New York Knicks' forward Carmelo Anthony has been on a tear this season thus far. He's been averaging 27.9 points a game on an efficient 47.3% front he field. What's more astonishing is his increase in hustle on defense. However, after going down with a sprained ankle in the what would have likely been blowout of the Los Angeles Lakers, Anthony is not expected to play today against the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to Marc Berman of the New York Post.Carmelo Anthony, nursing a sprained left ankle, is listed as questionable for tonight’s game against Cleveland but is not expected to play as he tries to rests up for Monday when Jeremy Lin returns to the Garden.Anthony underwent treatment yesterday at the Knicks practice facility, though the team did not practice.Rasheed Wallace ensured fans that Anthony's injury was not serious.“He’ll be back out here shortly,’’ Rasheed Wallace said. “It shows what kind of team we have [winning without him]. We did it before when he went down, with the lacerated finger. It brings us together more to know somewhere in the back of our mind we can’t let him down and we can’t have a lot of people think we’re all Carmelo, all Carmelo."The Knicks will face the Cavaliers, who will have Kyrie Irving playing despite a fracture to his upper jaw. As of today, the Knicks are first in the Eastern Conference with a 17-4 record.Follow @hoopsinjurynews!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://www.nbainjurynews.com//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs"); var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-34100676-1']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ?
