Beneath the Knicks noses’ on their D-League team the Erie Bayhawks, stands a young kid named Henry Sims. Henry, listed at 6’10″ 245 is a power forward/center out of Georgetown University. Henry was invited to Knicks camp narrowly missing out on the 15 spot that eventually went to Chris Copeland. Henry Sims has a soft touch around the basket and a decent jumper, but most importantly he has size and youth on his side. This is something the New York Knicks sorely need for now and the near future. Jared Zwerling has the scoop on Henry:
“[The Knicks] could give him a shot. He is playing well,” a source told ESPNNewYork.com. “They will need to see if they’re going to keep K-Mart or not.”
An NBA scout who has watched Sims has been impressed with the center’s progression because the D-League favors guard play. The scout said that if Sims is not picked up this year, he will be playing for an NBA team next season.
