Jeremy Tyler said he received a training camp invite from the #Knicks — Jonah Ballow (@jonahballow) July 19, 2013   The Lakers will have ex-#Knick Shawne Williams in training camp. Mike D’Antoni is a big fan. Williams worked out for NY in late June. — Ian Begley (@IanBegley) July 19, 2013   While the #Knicks have looked at FA options at PG, they remain highly impressed w/Toure Murry & are in contract discussions w/him for 13-14. — Ian Begley (@IanBegley) July 19, 2013   Knickswag Notes: Shawne Williams I believed was a good fit for NY, but the signing of Metta World Peace stopped that thought in my mind. With Peace and Melo at the SF at some points during the season, Shawne would have been at the end of the bench getting very little minutes. He is smart to seek employment elsewhere. Toure Murry was impressive to me. I liked his size and his defensive abilities. However, he is very green and I am not sure I want to count on him as the 3rd string point guard. Imagine if Felton or Pablo goes down, and then Toure becomes your back up point guard. His inexperience could hurt the Knicks tremendously. This is a very fine line to walk. I love Toure, but not as a major contributor this year, he needs seasoning. Jeremy Tyler is in a category all by himself. You know my thoughts on him from previous articles. This kid should be signed for 2 to 3 years and nurtured. To invite him to camp is just not enough. Why let him become an NBA rotational player this year then have him leave for a more lucrative contract after the season ends. Lock him up now and teach him how to become an NBA player.
