NEW YORK -- The New York Knicks will begin an intriguing new era Monday when they play their first intra-city game against the Brooklyn Nets. However, as the Knicks pointed out Sunday, it can't quite be considered a rivalry just yet. But the buzz for the first bout between two New York teams in Brooklyn on Monday has already caught on around the city. So, the Knicks were glad to enter that game coming off Sunday's 121-100 win over the Detroit Pistons at Madison Square Garden, which helped ease the sting of back-to-back losses for the first time this season. Carmelo Anthony led a balanced effort for the Knicks (9-3), scoring 15 of his 29 points in the first quarter, and he got help from five other Knicks who scored in double-digits. The Knicks hit 17 of 33 three-pointers, with Steve Novak drilling 5 of 7 to score 18 points and Rasheed Wallace hitting three of his own to score 15. Raymond Felton had 14 points and 10 assists. The Knicks defense also rebounded from its wor...

Knicks: Are Carmelo Anthony and his Knicks Getting Too Cocky?
Let’s put aside horrendous calls against the New York Knicks made by non-replacement referees, and focus on a jubilant Knicks club riding a winning streak. Anyone would be a little bit cocky after knocking down team after team, some of who were deemed better than you at the beginning of the season.
The Knicks have a swagger about them, with added cockiness I’m sure Rihanna would...
Carmelo Anthony gets lucky bounce on buzzer beater (Video)
In the crazy world of the NBA, sometimes lucky bounces turn into made baskets.
Check out this offering from New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony who drains a three point with less than 1 second left on the shot clock in the second quarter of tonight's Knicks/Nets affair:
Carmelo Anthony Back to Being Unstoppable Scorer, Which Could Be Bad News for Knicks
If Carmelo Anthony were to describe his game, he might sound a lot like Liam Neeson in Taken: “I have a very particular set of skills.”
Anthony has been consistently great at one thing since he entered the league. He scores. Anthony has averaged at least 20 points per game in all 10 of his NBA seasons, and in his last three games, he has averaged 29.7 points.
That could be very...
The Assist: Lala out in ATL
Carmelo Anthony’s wife Lala was spotted out in Atlanta with her partners in crime, Po and Dice. First up on Lala hosted Reign on Black Friday. With Saturday reserved for her pop up event with Motives Cosmetics. Side note, when I attended Lala’s birthday brunch last June, I received some samples from the line. [...]

With Jason Kidd Sidelined, Knicks Drop the Ball in Brooklyn
Aside from the Knicks' own resident Brooklyn boy Carmelo Anthony, there was perhaps no other Knickerbocker looking forward to Monday's matchup with the Nets more than Jason Kidd. After being the leader of such New Jersey Nets squads that went head to head with the Knicks in the early 2000's, Kidd understands exactly what the rivalry is all about. He understands how much...

Knicks Bounce Back In Time To Rumble in Brooklyn With Nets
After losing back to back contests in rather frustrating fashion to both the Mavericks and Jeremy Lin's Rockets, the Knicks were in need of a redemption win. With the team set to charge into Brooklyn on Monday night to take on the Nets, a tune-up was necessary. The pressure is on to defeat the emerging local "rival" as it is, so it wouldn't help much if the Knicks...
