NBA Injury News:
Jason Kidd doesn’t resemble the player he was in his prime, as the 40-year-old was scoreless over his final 10 games of the season. Still, the New York Knicks are expecting him to return next season, and general manager Glen Grunwald believes he’ll be a “big contributor,” according to Ian Begley of ESPN New York."We had a great meeting with Jason yesterday. We hope he's going to be back and from his comments to us we expect him to be back next year and he'll be a big contributor to the team like he was this year," Grunwald said on ESPN New York 98.7 FM on Tuesday after meeting with Kidd. While Kidd was influential in New York’s regular-season success, he struggled mightily during the playoffs. It seemed like the team was down a man when he was playing, and he missed his final 18 shots of the year.Kidd appeared to be mulling a return during the year, but he is under contract for the 2013-14 campaign. He’s since indicated that he’ll be back with the Knicks, but this can always change over the offseason.Follow @hoopsinjurynews

Amare Stoudemire will go into next season with $45 million left on his contract and no guarantee of a starting job.
He also could remain a reserve who plays restricted minutes.

Carmelo Anthony (A)
The NBA scoring champ will receive criticism one way or another, but it was truly a great season for Carmelo who put up 28.7ppg, 7rpg and 2.6apg, and led the team to their 1st division title in almost 20 years. Carmelo finally made a conscious effort to defend with vigor, demonstrated by his early season dives into the crowd for loose...
While J.R. Smith was mired in his playoff shooting slump, we said that something else had to be going on than the illness the Knicks provided as a reason. There may have been more to the story after all.
Smith battled a knee injury for most of the playoffs, the New York Post reports, starting with the first-round series against the Celtics. The knee reportedly began to bother him...

Pablo Prigioni could return to Spain.
Prigioni, who played a huge role in the 2012-13 season with the New York Knicks averaging 4.5 points, 3.2 assists while shooting over 43 percent from beyond the arc, could face a tough decision due to wife’s wishes to move back to Spain, according to Marc Berman of the New York Post.
This is a similar injury to what Dwight Howard played with for a good portion of the year. It isn’t bad enough to sideline you, but it is bothersome.

With their loss to the Pacers, many are claiming the 2012-13 season as a failure for the Knicks. A closer look shows that the team actually overachieved. This squad did something not seen in New York since before Y2K.

With the Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat starting their Eastern Conference Finals series tonight, it is finally set in that the Knicks have been eliminated from the playoffs. It was a rough series against the Pacers as they struggled on both sides of the court for most of the six games and were eliminated by a team that looked like they wanted it more. Here are...
I showed you the block heard ’round the world, when Roy Hibbert denied Carmelo Anthony at the rim. After the New York Knicks were ousted by the Indiana Pacers in the playoffs, much blame fell on the head of center Tyson Chandler, who was outplayed by Pacers center Roy Hibbert for the majority of the series. Chandler was recently asked if he felt he had let his team down, to which Chandler responded to the contrary:
“No, no. You can’t let the team...
Oh, how the playoffs change everything. In our last edition, Tyson Chandler was a “walking double-double,” J-Kidd “could average 1.5 steals and 1.5 treys in his sleep,” and I hoped that Dolan was “more willing to open the wallet for J.R. than he was for Jeremy Lin.” Twelve postseason games turned our rankings upside-down.
Since we don’t know who is staying and who...
