GREENBURGH, N.Y. — Mike Woodson hasn’t made up his mind yet, but it sounds as if he’ll start Carmelo Anthony at power forward in the Knicks’ season opener Wednesday.
“We’ve been successful here with Melo playing a lot of 4 and we haven’t experimented a whole lot with him playing [small forward] until this exhibition season,” Woodson said Tuesday. “So I just feel like I don’t want to go away from it a lot in terms of him playing at the 4 spot. But I have options.”
It looks like Carmelo Anthony will start at power forward in the season opener.
Woodson said he will announce a starting lineup Wednesday. For much of the preseason, he talked about wanting to start Andrea Bargnani at power forward and Anthony at small forward.
But his thinking has changed in recent days. Now it appears most likely that Metta World Peace will start at small forward and Anthony will start at power forward when New York opens the season at home against theMilwaukee Bucks.

Carmelo Anthony should focus on trying to get players to join him in New York, not creating uncertainty about whether he would leave.
That's the opinion of TNT analysts Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith, who are disappointed by Anthony's desire to become a free agent after this season.

The New York Knicks knocked off the Milwaukee Bucks in their season opener 90-83. This had the look of a laugher at halftime, as the Knicks jumped out to a 25 point lead. But of course, these are the Knicks who still haven’t cured last season’s issue of putting inferior teams away. They were actually trailing 81-80 in the final two minutes but thanks to a final flurry led by...
Metta World Peace made his New York Knicks debut Wednesday at Madison Square Garden. Instead of driving in a car or taking a helicopter to get from Queensbridge to Manhattan to join the Knicks, World Peace traveled by subway. From Newsday: His dream of becoming a Knick finally a reality in his 15th year in the NBA, World Peace thought it would only be appropriate to return home...

The countdown is coming to an end, as the Knicks open their season at home against the Milwaukee Bucks tonight at 7:30. Before the NBA season tips off, I’ll leave Knick Nation with some questions about the team and my predictions.
Will The Knicks Key Players Stay Healthy?
Obviously, health is the key for any sport and any team, but when looking at the recent injury...
The starting lineup still isn't finalized and the bench will be weakened. Not the ideal way for the New York Knicks to start a season.
They were blistering at the beginning last season, blowing out Miami in their opener en route to a 6-0 record, a win shy of their best start ever. They had at least a share of the Atlantic Division lead every day and won it for the first time...

For most of the preseason, it seemed as if Mike Woodson was committed to starting Andrea Bargnani at power forward.
But something’s changed in the past few days.
Woodson mentioned that there’s a possibility Metta World Peace could start over Bargnani when the Knicks open the season Wednesday against Milwaukee.
“I don’t know yet,” Woodson said Monday....
