they play the right combination on the floor

with davis back we need to start

davis -plays pt on offense,sg on defense
shump
melo
chandler
stat

and we need to play fast uptempo
which means pressure defense which begins in the back court
enter shump #2 in nba in steals and better on offense in transition game let him get his points there
davis can play point on offense but will not keep up with faster points shump can
coach needs to have him dedicate himself on defensive end where he is our best defender in the backcourt his points will come
in a open floor game its on stat or chandler to get out on the break
it also ends spacing problem
if melo is working one on one move your man out the paint like other teams do us
moving the ball side to side with these guys just let teams do what they been doing zoning us and daring stat to take a shot out his range or force a drive into traffic or let our piss poor guards who can't shoot for shait brick 3's
it comes a time when you tell a player if he can't figure it out everyone is not a 3 pt shooter
if you shoot less than 40% you are not a three point shooter
we lose everygame on fg%when your taking 30 plus 3's and making 5 you loose
when those players are also fouling, charging, turning it over you loose
when your guards are passing the ball to the other team half the time or can't make a simple bounce pass you loose
when you play players out of comfort zone you loose
if davis can still hit the j and pass
and we let shump play d at the 2
carmelo can play uptempo postup just don't fault him for being hurt he still melo
we need to have players on floor who will take the right shots and take care of the ball
this game is defend,pass,shoot
defend is ok except for perimeter d
our guards cannot pass or shoot
it comes to a point where you have to play only players that are helping you

shump
melo
chandler
stat
harrelson(when he returns)
davis(cross our fingers)
fields(off the bench replacing walker as 6th man)
jj - minutes should drop once jorts returns
trade for
a decent young point to backup davis -trade for flynn who don't play in houston
or give lin a real chance at least he penetrates and pass (6 assist 20 minutes)
even another coach will not be able to pass and shoot for these guys
but coach needs to coach to win which means dnps for douglas and walker
and making shump part of his starting backcourt guarding others teams scoring threat
makes no sense to me why #2 man in steals is bench in favor of douglas who now sucks

i would also sign arenas before i would martin who will only regress harrelsons progress
would is gonna be a good player
arenas could add firepower to backcourt
rose, etc no one else has the skills to do it

Tyson Chandler Delivers Promise, But Will The New York Knicks Back It Up?

After another frustrating night for the New York Knicks, who have lost nine of their last games, Tyson Chandler came out with a promise to Knick’s fans, saying “I refuse to have a losing season…” Those are some bold words from Mr. Chandler, especially after a season in which he left the NBA Champions Dallas Mavericks to join Amar’e Stoudemire and Carmelo...

Disappointing Knicks know they must get going soon

The Knicks know they have dug themselves a deep hole, and Carmelo Anthony and Baron Davis may not be available Tuesday to help them climb out of it. Neither practiced Monday, and coach Mike D'Antoni says both would probably be considered doubtful to play against Detroit. The Knicks then start a stretch of three games in three nights Thursday against Chicago. The Knicks have...

Carmelo Anthony’s high value proven in Knicks loss to Heat

Two things became very apparent during the Knicks’ hard fought  99-89 loss to the Miami Heat on Friday night. First off, the Knicks moved the ball better and had significantly better flow in their offense due to the absence of Carmelo Anthony. However, the game also proved that the Knicks cannot win a close game without Carmelo Anthony. Seems contradictory, does it not? Well,...

Knicks' long balls don't worry Rockets defense

HOUSTON On those nights when the law of averages catches up to the Knicks, when their fascination with straddling the arc and hoisting jumpers feeds their mounting discontent over their inefficient offense, it's easy to wonder what goes through the minds of their opponents. The Rockets knew precisely what was ahead Saturday night at Toyota Center. The Knicks were without All...

Knicks' threes don't worry Rockets defense

Tyson Chandler: ‘I Refuse to Have a Losing Season’

The New York Knicks’ latest horrific loss took place on Saturday night in Houston, and following the team’s third-straight defeat, Amar’e Stoudemire and Tyson Chandler were highly critical of their own squad. From the NY Post: “Amar’e Stoudemire sounded graver than ever, and ripped some players for not preparing for games and not learning from mistakes,...

D’AINTonio: Mike D’Antoni Not the Man for Knicks

Some experiments fail. It happens. You just need to admit defeat and not hold on to those missteps for too long. It’s come time to move on for the New York Knicks. Mike D’Antoni has coached this squad for 266 games. He’s won 110. Yes, there’s more to the story. But when you’re making six million dollars a year and are one of the highest-paid coaches...

Blame Game

The New York Knicks have lost 13 of their 20 games this season. There are 46 more games left in this shortened season, and I think it might be that time to press the panic button. Not that people across the NBA were picking this team to be a top 2 team in the East, but I don’t think anybody besides Charles Barkley had them 6 games under .500 through 20 games.  All the Knicks have...

Knicks drop ninth out of last 10 games vs. Rockets

The Knicks, playing their fourth road game in five nights, collapsed in the second half and were embarrassed by the Houston Rockets, losing 97-84.

HEAT 99 - Knicks 89 Recap

By the end of the first quarter, the New York Knicks had taken eight threes and made half of them. Inside the arc, they had made just 2-of-14. So, they went with what was working and for awhile it kept them close, but the Miami HEAT earned better looks, and the more sustainable offense finished with the victory.
