Bernstein/NBAE/Getty Images It’s no secret that the Miami Heat’s recently ended 27-game winning streak has dominated NBA headlines of late, but if you still want to see some big milestones surpassed then you’re in luck.  You may not know it, but two future Hall-of-Fame hoopers are poised to make history within the next handful of games. While perusing the always great Basketball-Reference.com, I stumbled upon the Milestone Watch page where I found something very interesting.  Not only is Dirk Nowitzki  a mere 134 points shy of becoming the 17th player in NBA history to score 25,000 career points, but Kobe Bryant needs just 5 points to pass Wilt Chamberlain and become 4th on the NBA all-time scoring list. Despite a bone spur in his left foot, Kobe is expected to play tonight against the Sacramento Kings and should be able to pass Wilt’s mark within the first quarter.  Nowitzki, however, is going to have to wait a few games to reach his milestone unless of course he goes for 134 points tonight against the Bulls.  Even if Dirk somehow doesn’t manage to score 134  in today’s game against the Bulls (that’s pathetic Dirk), he will still have 9 games left to reach 25,000.  Including tonight, Dirk will need to average just 13.4 points per game, which shouldn’t be tough for the bearded big man. These two historic achievements may not be as exciting as watching the Miami Heat try to win more consecutive games than any team in the history of American sports, but they are certainly worth watching and appreciating.  If you have NBA League Pass, I suggest you tune in tonight to watch Kobe Bryant make History.
