In an article by Businessweek, NBA All-Star and Lakers shooting guard Kobe Bryant was asked about what his post-NBA endeavors may include. Kobe Bryant has been often compared to Michael Jordan in terms of style of play, mentality to win, and an overall approach to the sport of basketball. Some may agree with the comparisons, while others do not. The fact of the matter is, Kobe Bryant is the last of his generation to bring what he has to bring to the table. These days, the NBA is all about sponsors and endorsements being the primary focus of a player and their basketball game second. With Kobe, his game comes first and the endorsements fall into place right after. In regards to his name and brand, Kobe stated,
I’ll be around the game and hopefully my brand can live on past my career and I can be a part of the game in that sense and inspire another generation. Whether that’s through advertising or grass-roots marketing.
