Smush Parker who played with the Lakers for two seasons (05-06, 06-07), made news yesterday at Lakers practice when Kobe Bryant decided to reference him when answering a reporters question.

The question was regarding Derek Fisher’s clutch performance on Sunday Night’s game against the Blazers. Kobe was asked if he missed Fisher’s heroics when he was gone between 2004-07 playing for the Warriors, and Jazz

“You mean when I was throwing it to Smush [Parker]?” Bryant said. “Yeah, I shot with three [expletive] on me. Now I only shoot with one, maybe two [defenders because Fisher is accounted for].”

In a 2009 interview, with MSG, Parker said playing for the Lakers was “overrated,” and says any problems he had with the team started and ended with Kobe Bryant.

Parker played in every regular season game the two seasons he was in Los Angeles. Parker averaged 11.3 points, 3.3 assists, and 1.6 steals per game, while playing with the Lakers.

  • I know Kobe missed Derek, and so did the fans. Smush, if ever there was someone that needed a new name, it's him. He also needs to stop thinking he's better than everybody else. When he was with the Lakers I would say everyday, "When are they going to dump this truck."
