LA Clippers' Possible Trade Deadline Plan Revealed

The LA Clippers have been the best team in basketball for over a month, but their front office has shown a willingness to improve and make changes at each trade deadline over the last several seasons. This has led some to believe that even despite LA's current success, some marginal moves at the deadline could certainly still take place.

During a recent episode of The Lowe Post, ESPN's Zach Lowe said, "I think the Clippers are still looking around. I think they're gonna be aggressive at the trade deadline. Specifically - they play as a little small when Kawhi is off the floor. Kawhi is kind of the default power forward now. They've got that one pick, they've got money, I think they're gonna look around at tweener-forward types. I would be shocked if there is not some conversations between the Nets and Clippers about [Dorian] Finney-Smith, Royce O'Neal."

With very few holes in their roster right now, the Clippers could use some additional forward depth. Amir Coffey has stepped up nicely as a backup wing off the bench since P.J. Tucker fell out of the rotation and rookie Kobe Brown was unable to lock down that spot, but the Clippers are still a bit thin at that position after trading away three veteran forwards in the James Harden trade.

While such a move doesn't seem like one that would make or break the Clippers' chances at a title, it makes sense why Lowe feels they would be targeting wing help at the deadline.
