The Daily Sports Herald:
Metta World Peace of the Los Angeles Lakers has been suspended by the NBA for one game for grabbing Brandon Knight of the Detroit Pistons around the neck and striking him lightly in the jaw with the back of his open hand.
The incident occurred with 1:43 remaining in the second period of the Lakers’ 98-97 road win over the Detroit Pistons on Sunday, February 3.
World Peace will serve his suspension tonight when the Lakers visit the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center.
With Metta out of the lineup, expect Devin Ebanks, Antawn Jamison, and Earl Clark to fill in by committee, with Kobe Bryant also playing some occasional minutes at the 3 as well.
This relative non-incident is the type of jostling that often occurs when players fight for rebounding position, but typically warrants no more than a technical foul. It appears however, that Metta still is a marked man in the eyes of the NBA's brass, as such wrestling likely would not have drawn a suspension had some other player ...

The Los Angeles Lakers have filed a complaint with the NBA regarding all the hard fouls it claims are being committed upon center Dwight Howard.
Los Angeles Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak believes his center Dwight Howard is taking to many hard fouls. Kupchak filed a complaint with the NBA regarding hard fouls on Howard.
Dwight Howard should have picked another team, a team that didn’t have a Kobe on it. A team that needed a guy like Howard to be a leader. A team where his talents could have shinned. Recently I read an article stating that Howard wants to avoid the circus. Really? If so, then why did he pick L.A. as his destination? He should have known every move he and his Lakers teammates...
Dwight Howard's Twitter profile proclaims he is, After the Ring!
The reality is, that should be changed to, Such drama!
When you consider the Los Angeles Lakers season and all that drama that has ensued, you cannot help but look at the NBA calendar and notice that time could be running out on their postseason hopes. Adding to the theatrics is the fact that Howard -- the man...

Jason Whitney Metta World Peace was at it again in Detroit as he threw a sneaky punch at the Pistons’ Brandon Knight Metta World Peace certainly does not disappoint. Only Metta World Peace would throw a sneaky jab while initiating the contact. Best of all, this all happened at Detroit’s Palace of Auburn Hills arena. We all remember the “Malice of the Palace” infamous...

Gasol's Lakers future is, most likely, in a ton of jeopardy at the moment
The 2012-13 season has been a disaster in many ways for the Los Angeles Lakers.
First off, and most prevalent, is their record of 23-26 which is awful by Lakers standards and is completely not indicative of how talented they actually are. Secondly, they traded for Dwight Howard AND Steve Nash...
Well, the hardships of this season just continue to pile up for the Lakers. Forward Pau Gasol left yesterday’s game with an apparent right foot injury, and the news is not good.
It wasn't that long ago (2 weeks to be exact) when Laker fans could only guess what type of team garbed in Lakers jersey will come out of the locker room. There are nights when the Lakers are so engaged that it looks like they're starting to come around. And then there are other games where the Lakers are so much in disarray that their fans could do nothing but sit quietly...

As great as athletes are, Father Time is undefeated. Kobe Bryant is 34 years old, 17 years in the NBA, and has logged over 40,000 minutes on the hardwood. As great as Kobe is, he has made it clear that his time in the league is coming to a close. With just one more [...]
