The Lakers arediscussing internally whether to pursue free-agent guard Gilbert Arenas, thoughthey haven't invited him for a workout and are leaning toward not signing him. Arenas, who turned 30 on Jan. 6, has been without a team since Orlando waivedhim last month via the "amnesty" provision in December. He had atleast three knee surgeries since 2007 and averaged a career-low eight pointsand 3.2 assists in 21.8 minutes for the Magic last season. He shot 34.4,another career low.

Los Angeles Lakers coach Mike Brown said that the team has inquired about free-agent guard Gilbert Arenas on Tuesday, according to ESPN."We've made a call on (him), yes...We've called to see what his status is.
