On top of the Los Angeles Lakers playing hurt and not quite at full strength last night, they had to play the entire second half without Dwight Howard.  Howard was ejected in the second quarter after he picked up his second technical foul. According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN Los Angeles, Howard's technicals came from what seemed to be arguing calls.  Howard felt the referees had a quick trigger and should have at least explained the reasoning for the technicals better.  Howard picked up his first technical in the first quarter while begging that a foul be called.  He picked up his second technical in the second quarter when a double technical was called on him and the Toronto Raptors' Alan Anderson."They didn't explain," Howard said when asked why he picked up the second technical foul. "I didn't do anything to get ejected."Howard isn't alone in thinking the technicals should not have been called.  The Lakers will likely petition the league to have the calls rescinded.  The move will not help the fact that Howard was tossed in last night's game, but will keep him from inching closer to the league's mandatory suspension for 13 technical fouls.Howard has averaged 17.3 points and 12.4 rebounds per game this season.  His numbers are slightly down since coming over from Orlando.  In his career, Howard has averaged 18.4 points per game and 13.0 rebounds per game.Follow @hoopsinjurynews!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://www.nbainjurynews.com//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs"); var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-34100676-1']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? Raptors win over Lakers means little

Yesterday the Toronto Raptors beat the LA Lakers at the ACC. Normally this would be big news but in terms of the Raptors pulling off an upset. This win was nice and all, but honestly the story that came out of this game is more about how bad the Lakers are than the Raptors making progress. Is this the ultimate karma kick in the head for LA? They load up on Dwight Howard and Steve...

Lakers are the Second Team in LA…Clippers Have the Second Best Record in the NBA

One team is 17-24 and sinking quicker than the Titanic, the other is thriving and owns the second best record in the league, a half game behind the Oklahoma City Thunder at 32-10. Both teams play in the Los Angeles in the same building (The Staples center) so if I were to tell you that the Lakers are 17-24 and the Clippers aer 32-10 would you believe it? Of course not. LA is Lakertown...

NBA Chat On The Home Stretch

I was able to join Justin Hull on The Home Stretch to chat about the NBA... but we got distracted by rants about the metric system and dating Taylor Swift. When we got around to chatting hoops, we covered Dwight Howard's abysmal play this season, if the Lakers season is over and why the Clippers won't do well in the NBA Playoffs.
