Although it seems pretty bad, Dwight Howard is saying his shoulder injury isn't as bad as everyone is making it out to be.  The Los Angeles Lakers announced that Howard had a torn labrum in his shoulder, but Howard clarified yesterday.  He said the injury is actually a separation from the bone - still a tear, though in medical terms.Dave McMenamin of ESPN Los Angeles says Howard is optimistic about the injury and believes after talking to doctors the separation of the labrum as opposed to a tear is not as severe.  He essentially said the decision to sit is precautionary right now. "(The doctor) just said he doesn't want me to continue to aggravate it every night because that could cause problems later on in the season, or it could come to a point where someone fouled me hard enough and I tear the labrum, so (the doctor) doesn't want that to happen," Howard said.Howard missed last night's game because of the injury and is listed as out indefinitely.  He is scheduled to get another evaluation and further treatment next week.  If all goes well, he could return to the court after the re-evaluation. Howard has averaged 17.3 points per game and 12.4 rebounds per game this season.  Both stats are a slight step back compared with his career numbers.  In his career, Howard has averaged 18.4 points per game and 13.0 rebounds per game.Follow @hoopsinjurynews!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://www.nbainjurynews.com//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs"); var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-34100676-1']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ?
