Lakers, Heat Among Teams Linked To LeBron James’ Son, Bryce
Katie Goodale / USA TODAY NETWORK

NBA scouts from the Los Angeles Lakers, Orlando Magic, Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks, Miami Heat, New York Knicks, Phoenix Suns and Atlanta Hawks all made LeBron James’ son, Bryce, a priority on Day 1 of the Nike Peach Jam, according to Krysten Peek of Yahoo Sports.

Bryce is the youngest son of LeBron. Nike’s Peach Jam is the most competitive AAU event of the summer.

“The youngest son of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James made his Peach Jam debut Monday afternoon and finished with 12 points (2-for-6 from 3, 4-for-9 from the field) in the Strive For Greatness (California) win over Expressions in the 16-under division, 78-69,” Peek wrote. “The gym was packed with fans and LeBron was noticeably absent from the sidelines, but is expected to show up later this week to support his son. A 6-4 shooting guard, James has excellent shooting mechanics and a high release. He’s getting to the rim a bit easier and has found a second burst in transition.”

“Scouts from the Lakers, Magic, Cavaliers, Mavericks, Heat, Knicks, Suns, Hawks and other teams all made James a priority on Day 1 of games.”

LeBron wants to play with his oldest son, Bronny, in the NBA. Bronny will be eligible for the 2024 NBA Draft. He’s playing at USC in the fall.

LeBron signed a two-year extension with the Lakers last summer. He can become an unrestricted free agent in 2024 and sign with the team Bronny gets drafted by. No father has played with or against his son in the NBA.

LeBron hasn’t talked about playing with or against Bryce yet since Bryce is only 16 years old. LeBron will turn 39 next season. It’s unknown if he’ll be able to play into his 40s just to suit up with Bryce, who is already 6-foot-4.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Bryce James. He is receiving a lot of hype at a young age and that can be difficult for a young player to handle. Hopefully, Bryce will be able to create his own path and find his way to his full potential.

Until then, we expect to continue hearing about teams showing interest in LeBron’s two sons. Both Bronny and Bryce have bright future ahead of them.
