Lakers Injury Report: Magic Starter Breaks Hand Ahead Of LA Rematch
USA TODAY Sports

During an eventual 115-113 road victory over the Utah Jazz, Orlando Magic starting center Wendell Carter Jr. fell while battling for a board. In the impact, he fractured the third metacarpal in his left hand, per the Magic's official Twitter/X account.

This is obviously a massive bummer, as Carter is a fun young two-way talent who has been somewhat snake bitten by the injury bug in recent years.

It's safe to assume that Carter will be unavailable for tomorrow's rematch against your Los Angeles Lakers, scheduled for 4 p.m. PT in Orlando.

The Orlando Sentinel's Jason Beede indicates that, though the Magic haven't yet established how long Carter might be out, these injuries generally require the hand to be immobile for three weeks, and can occasionally require surgical intervention.
