The Los Angeles Lakers, now 0-3 to start the season could ill-afford an injury to one of their marquee players. Lakers' guard Steve Nash will be out with a small non-displaced fracture in the fibula in his left leg. The team announced that he will be out for a week before being re-examined for further details. Ben Golliver of SI.com talks about Nash's injury.Nash suffered the lower leg injury, originally called a contusion, during a Wednesday night loss to the Trail Blazers in Portland.Steve Nash was picked up by the Lakers this off-season in a sign-and-trade deal with the Suns with a three-year contract worth $27 million. In his first two regular season games as a Laker, Nash averaged a mere 4.5 points and 4.0 assists before suffering the injury. His replacement, Steve Blake, is averaging 5 points and 3.7 assists per game.Despite being one of the oldest players remaining in the league, Nash has been surprisingly injury-free.
