The Los Angeles Lakers signed rookie forward/center Robert Sacre, the team announced Friday. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Sacre, a 7-foot forward-center out of Gonzaga, was a second round draft pick this year for the Lakers. He ranked second in school history with 186 blocked shots while averaging 9.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 135 games. Sacre was the West Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year and was named to the All-WCC first team last season, averaging 11.6 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game. He averaged 9.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.0 block in five Summer League games for the Lakers.

The Los Angeles Lakers have signed Greg Somogyi from UC Santa Barbara. The 7’3″ center towers over a 7’1″ Pau Gasol and a 6’11″ Dwight Howard. Whether he makes the Lakers roster after training camp is still up for grabs.
