Local commercials starring big-name athletes tend to be a treasure trove of unintentional comedy, although, at this point, one could argue that the comedy in some of these spots is totally intentional. Exhibit A for the intentional comedy argument is this ad for Mcloughlin Auto Mall, located just outside Portland, Ore. (Thanks, Mcloughlin, that’ll be $5.)
The two pitchmen — LaMarcus Aldridge and Robin Lopez of the Portland Trail Blazers — make a hilarious attempt at “singing” the auto mall’s jingle. As you would expect, it doesn’t go well. Yet, it’s so hilariously awful that it makes the whole thing that much more awesome.
If you thought the ad was good for a few chuckles, peep the outtakes for more comedy.

They completely embraced the fact that they’re not incredible actors or singers, and by just being themselves...
The jaw-dropping performances are coming so frequently, so effortlessly and so monumentally, Robin Lopez has given up trying to forecast what might happen next. Instead, he’s decided to just hop aboard the L-Train, sit back and enjoy the ride.
“LA’s been playing at one hell of a level,” Lopez said, referring to LaMarcus Aldridge. “I know it’s only 20-something games...

This has to be intentionally done bad. The car dealership, Lopez, and Aldridge all knew how bad this was going to be. They also knew that it would go viral and get some attention for the dealership. This has to be the case.Success...I guess.H/T - FORTHEW!N
LaMarcus Aldridge heard the MVP chants near the end of the Portland Trail Blazers' 111-104 win over the Houston Rockets. Aldridge dominated with 31 points and 25 rebounds to go with two assists, two steals and two blocks. Those MVP chants -- valid. Aldridge is locked in kaiju-toppling-a-city mode (23.2 points, 10 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.1 steal and .7 blocks).Dwight Howard had...
Anyone stay up to watch some of the Geminid meteor shower start up last night? I love astronomy. And it’s not really that different from fantasy. You use math and all sorts of techy stats like Win Shares or True Shooting Percentage or Gravitational Microlensing to find far off worlds and far off fantasy production. Then if you’re lucky enough, like having the reigns at...

The preliminary NBA all-star voting numbers were just released, and, as usual, the results are ridiculous.
