Found May 20, 2013 on The Scores Report:
The Indiana Pacers have the odds stacked against them facing the Miami Heat, but the team matches up well against Miami, and things could get very interesting if Lance Stephenson continues his impressive development as a player. Adrian Wojnarowski has a nice profile of Stephenson, explaining how Larry Bird discovered him with a huge assist from another blast from the past, former Cleveland State coach and basketball guru Kevin Mackey. Indian has size and they know how to play defense. But they’re young and their perimeter players are inconsistent. So they need several of these guys to step up against Miami, and Stephenson has the kind of talent that can thrive in these settings. But, he’s had to mature a lot these past three years, and now we’ll see if he’s ready for the big stage. While some might call Stephenson a head case, you could say the same about Lebron James who has had some of the biggest post season meltdowns in NBA history. So let’s see if Stephenson can perform at a hi...

Pacers headed to Eastern Conference Finals. And they’re ready…

Pacers Guard Lance Stephenson(Photo: Spurlock/USA Today) The Indiana Pacers. The Eastern Conference Finals. Who would have thought? We knew they’d be back…some year. But at the beginning of the 2012-2013 season? After losing their best shooter, Danny Granger, who would have thought it would be this year? Anyone who watched them in the playoffs. That’s who. Because the Pacers...

Slow Motion Video:The Indiana Pacers advance to the Eastern Conference finals

The Indiana Pacers needed a career-high game from Lance Stephenson to take down the New York Knicks in Game 6. Stephenson chipped in 25 points on Saturday as the Pacers walked away with a hard fought 106-99 win to advance to the Eastern Conference finals. Stephenson also secured 10 rebounds while Paul George contributed 23 points to the Pacers’ collection plate. Roy Hibbert...

Stephenson finally growing up

For Indiana Pacers guard Lance Stephenson, talent has never been the issue. The former star at Brooklyn's Abraham Lincoln High School, the same Brighton Beach program that once groomed Stephon Marbury and Sebastian Telfair, Stephenson was widely heralded as one of the most gifted high school basketball players New York City had ever seen. A four-time city champion and two-time...

LeBron to Vogel: Not just next team

After advancing to the conference semis, Frank Vogel referred to the Heat as the next team in their championship run, a comment LeBron James took umbrage with.

West (leg) misses Pacers practice, expects to play

Pacers forward David West is expected to play Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals at Miami, despite an injured right leg. Team doctors held West out of Monday's practice with what coach Frank Vogel described as a calf strain or lower leg strain. He did shoot around with his teammates after practice ended. Vogel said doctors thought it would be best to give West a day off...

Roy Hibbert rejects Carmelo Anthony at the rim when it counted most

Lance Stephenson might have been the catalyst in Saturday night's Game 6 series clincher over the New York Knicks but it was Roy Hibbert's emphatic late-game rejection of a Carmelo Anthony dunk that represented how much the bigger, stronger Indiana Pacers dominated the Knicks under the basket throughout the series. After the Knicks had taken a 92-90 lead on J.R. Smith’s...

Indiana Pacers: Why The Pacers Will Win The East

Indiana Pacers: Why The Pacers Will Win The East By Mike Elworth: Publisher and Owner Yes, this is actually an article stating that the Miami Heat will not make the NBA Finals. Shocking. Regardless, the Indiana Pacers have a legitimate chance to beat the Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals and here is a prediction that they will. The Pacers did beat the Heat in 2 of the 3 games...

LeBron to Pacers coach Frank Vogel: “We’re Not just Another Team”

After the Indiana Pacers were finally able to do away with the New York Knicks, head coach Frank Vogel had already turned his eyes to the team’s next opponent. But while talking about the Miami Heat, Vogel remarked that LeBron and co. are “just the next team” in their way to a championship. While I [...]

Frank Vogel Didn’t Refer To Miami As “Just Another Team”

LeBron James created the non-storiest of non-stories Sunday, when he responded to Indiana Pacers head coach Frank Vogel referring to the Miami Heat as “just another team”. Unfortunately for LeBron, that’s not what Vogel said at all. He referred to the Heat as “just the next team” — a less dismissive comment, and one that also happens to be 100% accurate as the Heat are...

Roy Hibbert Stuffs Carmelo Anthony

The Indiana Pacers won Game 6 to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals but after the game everyone was talking about the Roy Hibbert block on Carmelo Anthony. Hibbert’s block came at a huge part of the game. In the 4th quarter with 5 minutes left the Pacers were up 2 when Anthony decided to attack the rim. It looked like Anthony was going to tie the game but Hibbert had other...

NY Daily News – keeping things classy

When you think of New York Newspapers, the NYDN is likely not the first or even second paper on your list.  The Times and the Post have fought for that top spot for an awful long time now, so maybe it’s not surprising that sometimes the NYDN feels the need to push the envelope, generate a little controversy, and get some eyeballs to their pages. How else, then, do you explain...

Full Court Press: Can the Pacers Stop The Heat?, Unathletic Looking Athletes, Monika Jagaciak Looking Spectacular

Click on photo to read more about the Pacers vs. Heat series It’s the sexy thing to say these days, but I really think the Pacers will push the Heat to AT LEAST six games. The Pacers are a good team. Not sure the Heat have really been challenged so far so if the Pacers can come out and hit them in the jaw they have a shot. Heat will win though. Lock city The Press The World’s...

East Finals Preview: Can the Pacers upset the Heat?

I waited a couple of days for the dust to settle after that New York series to ponder whether the Indiana Pacers have a leigitmate shot at upsetting the defending NBA champs Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals this year. I have not yet seen a single expert daring to pick the Pacers in this 7-game series, but to the Pacers' credit, there are no predictions for sweeps either...

Eastern Conference Finals set Pacers vs. Heat

The Pacers knocked off the Knicks six games to move on to the Eastern Conference finals. Now it’s off to South Beach to face off against the Miami Heat with the first game set for Wednesday, May 22. The Heat will have had almost a week off since ending their last series against the Chicago Bulls in 5 games. The Pacers play team ball and have a true young center in Roy Hibbert....

Pacers Vs. Heat Eastern Conference Finals Preview

Photo Credit: Rueters My Pick: Pacers in 7 This series comes down to matchups, and I think that the Pacers have the ability to get the best of the Heat. Point Guard: George Hill v. Mario Chalmers This is a tough one. Typically, I would go with George Hill, but since his concussion, I am skeptical about how he will perform. However, I do think that he will rebound from his poor Game...
