LeBron James catches stray from Reggie Miller amidst praise for Anthony Edwards’ mentality
Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

The 22-year-old Anthony Edwards is receiving a lot of praise for his mature mentality in the ongoing playoffs. Ant-Man also took the responsibility for the Game 3 loss against the Denver Nuggets in the post-game interview. For this, NBA veteran and announcer Reggie Miller praised the young athlete during the fourth game, but many believe that he might have also taken an indirect jibe at LeBron James.

As LeBron James has built quite a reputation for complaining during losses, fans believed that Reggie Miller‘s statement was pointed at the Lakers forward. As Miller did not directly mention the four-time champion’s name, the star did compare Anthony Edwards to a veteran and star of the game during TNT’s broadcast.

We've got certain guys with veteran status in our game that are on a lot of people's Mount Rushmore that like to deflect and point fingers at others. Here's a 22-year-old saying, 'This is all me, it's my fault'. Reggie Miller said

James has gained a reputation for putting the blame on others due to his long list of coaches over the years. Many believe that the 39-year-old is often involved in firing the coaches of his teams after not getting the expected result. Recently the Lakers fired Darvin Ham just after two years of coaching and Frank Vogel after three years, despite the HC winning the championship for the team.

Edwards, on the other hand, has seemingly chosen a different path. Ant-Man has shown nothing but love for the coaching staff and his teammates in the past. With self-blaming for the recent loss, the star even motivated his teammates on the basketball court during tough times post Game 3.

Fans believe Reggie Miller took a dig at LeBron James

Witnessing the last moments of the Lakers’ season, fans were quick to assume that Miller was throwing shade at James. From firing the coach, complaining about the referees, and questioning the future with the Lakers, James has blamed others on numerous occasions.

After Miller mentioned the Mount Rushmore analogy, netizens were firm that he was referring to the ‘King’ of the league. NBA fans took to social media to react to Miller’s (alleged) subtle jab.

It is not confirmed to whom Miller’s shot was directed but the dots only connect to one name. The virality of his comments on social media might force a confirmation from Miller himself.
