Humility is for the birds. LeBron James scored 39 points on just 18 shots in the Heat’s 110-104 victory over the Mavericks on Friday night. LeBron missed only five shots all night, leading to an impressive .778 field goal percentage. After the game, one reporter wondered aloud just what LeBron would do if he took over a game like Toronto’s Rudy Gay, who earlier this week launched a league high 37 shots  – but made only 11 of them. Never one to sell himself short, LeBron answered, “You give me 37 shots in a game, I’ll have 60, 70. I had 40 tonight on 18 shots. If I get 37 shots in a game, I’m going to put up 60. Easy.” James has scored 50 or more points nine times in his career, with eight of those games coming as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. During his time in Cleveland, the offense didn’t just run through LeBron, it was LeBron. Naturally, this led to him holding onto the ball longer and taking more shots. His career high in points came in 2005 when he scored 56 points off o...

VIDEO: LeBron's Son Is Really Good

It looks like LeBron James' nine-year old son, LeBron Jr., is taking after his father. The elder LeBron posted a video on Instagram of his son pulling off a euro-step at his youth game tonight. Take a look: But the lay-in showed in this video far from tell the full story of LeBron Jr's game tonight, according to his father. King James posted the...

LeBron Masterful in Win Vs. Mavs

LeBron James has been a master of efficiency for the past couple of years, so we can't say we're shocked with what we saw tonight. But that doesn't make what LeBron accomplished in Miami's 110-104 victory over the Mavs any less impressive. King James scored 39 points on just 18 shots. 18. That's a not typo, either. LeBron made 14 field goals and knocked...

LeBron James does Dirk Nowitzki shot to beat Mavericks (Video)

LeBron James used Dirk Nowitzki’s signature move to perfection to beat the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night. The Miami Heat were leading the Mavs 100-97 with under three minutes left in the game when Dirk Nowitzki made a jumper to make it a 1-point game. LeBron answered by making a shot using Dirk’s one-legged fadeaway […]

LeBron's 39 power Heat to 110-104 victory over Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks got the best of LeBron James once. Apparently, he's committed to never letting it happen again. Ever. The sting of the Miami Heat's loss to the Mavericks in the 2011 NBA Finals muted by the Heat's 2012 and 2013 championships, James and the Heat moved to 5-0 against Dallas since that 2011 championship series with a 110-104 victory Friday night at...

Here’s a bunch of NBA stars playing Jingle Bells with basketball hoops (Video)

This is as much of a commercial for more of those god-awful sleeved jerseys (yeah, the NBA/adidas is still trying to ram those down our throats) as it is for the slate of games the NBA is offering on Christmas Day, but any time the league wants to keep using basketball sound effects to play Christmas carols, I’m OK with it. So enjoy as Stephen Curry, Derrick Rose, James Harden...

Starting Lineups: The Impending Chaos Of The 2014 NBA Offseason

I know we’re not even a full month into the 2013-14 NBA season, but it seems like just as much — if not more — of the talk has been about what’s going to happen after the season instead of what’s actually going on right now. There’s less talk about LeBron James and the Miami […]The post Starting Lineups: The Impending Chaos Of The 2014 NBA Offseason appeared first on...

LeBron's 39 points lift Heat past Mavs, 110-104

LeBron James scored 39 points, Dwyane Wade had 17 points, eight assists and a career-best eight steals, and the Miami Heat held off the Dallas Mavericks 110-104 Friday night. James made 14 of 18 shots for the Heat (6-3), while Chris Bosh scored 14 points. Norris Cole and Rashard Lewis each added 11 for Miami, which has topped the 100-point mark in every game this season. Wade became...

James scores 30 as Heat defeat Bobcats 97-81

Charlotte Bobcats coach Steve Clifford said after all of these years in the NBA he's still amazed at some of the things LeBron James does. ''You know, he'd be fun to watch if you weren't coaching the other team,'' Clifford said. James scored 30 points to help Miami beat Charlotte 97-81 Saturday night for the Heat's 13th straight victory against the...

A rugged Blazer team takes down Raptors in OT

The Portland Trail Blazers sure know how to make a game interesting. After having a 17-point lead with 8:12 to go in regulation, somehow this contest was decided in overtime. Rudy Gay led the fourth-quarter charge erupting for 11 of his game-high 30 points in that pivotal quarter. Toronto went on a 19-2 run in the last four minutes of regulation and Rudy Gay capped it off momentarily...

NBA Christmas: a big logo, sleeves on jerseys and the "Jingle Hoops" curse

Ok, it is a pretty cool NBA commercial and the verdict may still be out on the jersey with sleeves and oversized logo for Christmas, but what about the dreaded “Jingle Hoops” curse no one is discussing. You know what we are talking about… With the NBA “Big Logo” promo ad featuring LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose, James Harden, Stephen Curry and Steve Nash,...

Heat-Bobcats Preview

The Miami Heat were one of the NBA's top offensive clubs during their run to the 2012-13 title, and they appear to be even more potent behind a red-hot LeBron James this season. The Heat, however, might not be at full strength in the second of back-to-back games Saturday night. With Ray Allen already out, Dwyane Wade also could be sidelined when visiting Miami seeks its 13th...
