When Memphis Grizzlies center Marc Gasol was named Defensive Player of the Year, it was met by some surprise and skepticism from fans and players alike. Lakers center Dwight Howard let it be known that he found it funny and now we find out that the second place winner wasn’t happy either. LeBron James is on his way to his fourth MVP award and his Miami Heat are the favorite to win back-to-back NBA Championships. But per The Palm Beach Post, LeBron was upset about not winning this particular award. And let it be known. Memphis center Marc Gasol won the Defensive Player of the Year, finishing 14 first place votes ahead of LeBron James, with Serge Ibaka third. During his first media availability since the announcement, James made his feelings clear. “It sucks,” James said. “It sucks. It sucks.” James was asked if his candidacy for other awards — notably the MVP — hurt his chances. “I don’t know,” James said. “It definitely sucks, though. Finishing second? Who wants to finish second?” Was this his best defensive season? “Probably,” James said. “I mean, I guard everybody on the floor. I don’t know if there’s one player in NBA history who’s guarded one through five (positions). It’s over with now, but that’s cool.” For what it is worth, I think that LeBron has a point. I’ve thought long and hard about it but I’m not sure there has ever been another player in NBA history who can check all 5 positions from point guard to center like LeBron. Was he robbed of this award? Maybe. But I think we all know LeBron is the best defender in the NBA. And in my eyes, that is worth more than any award can signify.

LeBron is a true competitor to the very end. Dude doesn't want to lose anything, ever. Source: LeBron, William Wesley Rarely Speak Anymore

With Jay-Z becoming a sports agent, speculation has risen that LeBron James could become a client. Jay-Z has partnered with CAA, where William 'Worldwide Wes' Wesley is also an agent. Memphis center Marc Gasol spanks himself because he can

While I have even money that this self-spanking trend isn’t going to catch on in the NBA, that isn’t going to stop Marc Gasol from doing it. In the Grizzlies game four against the Los Angeles Clippers, Marc decided to celebrate with a little bit of self-spanking after making a shot: *** Marc Gasol spanks himself [@CJZero]

Marc Gasol Spanks Himself In Celebration

There really isn’t much that needs to be said here except Marc Gasol just spanked himself in celebration. That’s all. Here it is on a loop. [GIF's via @CJZero] Article found on: Next Impulse Sports

NBA Playoffs Post Game Presser “Swag-O-Meter”

It has been made abundantly clear here and on Twitter, that I think the NBA is the worst product of the four major sports.  But that doesn’t stop me from knowing what’s going on in the NBA.  A prime example is that I know if you lined up all 360 NBA players, James Harden would be way down the list of players who “look like” an NBA All-Star.  I also know that James Harden’s...

First Take named one of the 20 worst shows on television

Thankfully, we haven't heard too much noise lately from the Bristol underworld kingdom of First Take.  Tim Tebow's NFL career being on life support and the brilliant play of LeBron James have worked against two of the show's long-standing pillars - that Tebow is a winner and James is not.  Instead of building a show on a solid foundation of insight and analysis, ESPN...
