Rapper Lil Wayne sat courtside at a recent Los Angeles Lakers playoff game, he told an LA Times reporter that Kobe Bryant inspires him in life.
"He's inspired not only songs, but he's inspired me in life in general just the way he attacks things, the way he never backs down, the way he fights through injury," Lil Wayne said to the reporter.
"Not only do he fight through injury, and not only do he play through injury, he excel through injury. I take those type of things and I just apply them to my everyday life."
Lil Wayne says he grew up watching the Lakers and has always been a fan. His favorite player is Kobe Bryant, who he says is " the greatest player to touch a basketball."

Kobe Bryant gutted out a 31-point performance in a 113-96 Game 6 loss to the Nuggets on Thursday despite playing while ill. Kobe had a stomach issue that forced him to take two bags of IV fluids before the game and two more at halftime. He played well enough for the Lakers, but his teammates were lacking. He pointed that out after the game.
Asked whether he felt his teammates had...
The Los Angeles Lakers say Kobe Bryant will play Thursday night against the Denver Nuggets despite a stomach ailment that caused him to miss his team's morning shootaround.
Coach Mike Brown said Bryant was holding down liquids and had no restriction on his minutes.

THE UGLY TRUTH
This was a little snippet on ‘Around The Horn’ retold by J.A. Adande in which L.A. Times writer, Bill Plaschke, called Kobe Bryant the most endearing name known to man: an asshole. This resulted when Kobe was asked about Gallinari’s defense on him during Game 3 of the First-Round Western Conference Lakers-Nuggets matchup. Just watch the video: [...]
Here is the video of the flagrant foul by Kobe Bryant on Kenneth Faried in Game 6 in Denver on Thursday night. Faried looked really dazed and confused after the big blow by Bryant but he got back up and hit his two foul shots.
As you watch J.A. Adande relay this story of Kobe Bryant and Bill Plaschke, dropping a dozen assholes along the way, the remember one thing: This is ESPN.

News came out yesterday afternoon about Kobe Bryant’s stomach ailments. Despite being listed as “Questionable”, anyone with half a brain new he’d play & most, including myself, thought he’d come out firing. Well, Kobe, as always, did his part registering 31 points despite being visibly ill, fatigued & nowhere near 100%. And yet again, the [...]
To chuck, or not to chuck, that is the question. At least that is the ongoing debate among the pro- and con-Kobe Bryant groups (especially in the comments section of our All-NBA Teams article). The argument (at least for the anti-Kobe people) is that the Lakers would be a more successful team if Kobe shared the rock more often, especially with Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol, two...

The set-up was simple: an elimination game for the Nuggets in their house and Kobe Bryant has a stomach virus. A bad stomach virus to be completely forthcoming, the kind of virus that requires all kinds of things just to get out of bed, let alone play a game of basketball. IV fluids, special...
A face only a mother could love. The Los Angels Lakers failed to wrap up their first round series with the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night. The Nuggets forced a Game 6 back in Denver on Thursday night with a 102-99 victory. Despite 43 points from Kobe Bryant, it was too much JaVale McGee and Andre Miller. McGee had his best game of the series with 21 points and 14 rebounds...
The Denver Nuggets on the brink of elimination for the second game ran the Los Angeles Lakers up and down the court to a 113-96 Game 6 win to force a Game 7 back in LA.
Game 7 will be Saturday night at the Staples Center. Denver hasn't played in a Game 7 since losing to Utah in the 1994 Western Conference semifinals.

Andre Miller scored 24 points, including two free throws with 12.8 seconds left, and the Denver Nuggets survived Kobe Bryant's late scoring barrage in a 43-point performance, avoiding playoff elimination with a 102-99 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 5 on Tuesday night.
JaVale McGee had 21 points and 14 rebounds for the sixth-seeded Nuggets, who trimmed the Lakers...
The Denver Nuggets thought they had game five of their match-up against the Los Angeles Lakers in the books when veteran guard Andre Miller hit a mid-range jumper giving the visitors an 82-67 advantage with 9:02 left in the fourth quarter Tuesday night at the Staples Center. We have seen Tim Tebow, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant tattoos, but I’m not quite sure I have seen something quite like this: Tony Parker is having a terrific season as he helped lead the San Antonio Spurs to the best record in the west. A San Antonio Spurs fan was so enthused with his Spurs [...]
