There seems to be mutual feelings between the Pistons and Lionel Hollins. “I can’t tell you. I haven’t had any contact with them, nor has my agent. I’ve expressed to different media outlets that I would have an interest in listening to what they have to say,” Hollins said to SiriusXM NBA Radio, via “They have an intriguing team with some of the young big guys that they have. So I would definitely be interested in talking to them. I’m flattered by all the non-decision makers coming out and saying that the job is mine and I’m the first choice and they are coming after me.” Hollins would be a perfect fit for Detroit. He’s used to coaching premiere frontcourts, in Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol. It would be interesting to see what he could do with Josh Smith, Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond.

Grizzlies mascot slams Wizards fan through table (Video)

The Memphis Grizzlies mascot, Grizz, put on a superhero outfit and used a wrestling "powerbomb" to slam a Washington Wizards fan through a table during a timeout in Tuesday night's game at the FedEx Forum. We're about 99.999% sure that the man wearing the Gilbert Arenas jersey was a willing participant in the Super Grizz skit. Otherwise, the Grizzlies have a major...

Pistons impress in Loyer's debut

Hours before John Loyer made his debut as Detroit's interim coach, Chauncey Billups offered a preview. ''He's always very energetic at all times,'' Billups said. ''I don't know what we're going to do in second halves because he won't have a voice. He always loses his voice in the first half.'' Billups' assessment was spot...

Memphis Grizzlies mascot powerbombs Wizards fan through a table (Video)

During Tuesday night’s Grizzlies-Wizards game, a fan in the front row wearing a Gilbert Arenas jersey – which immediately signaled that something was about to go down – began antagonizing the Memphis crowd. This prompted Grizzlies mascot, Super Grizz to make his way over to the fan, back him into a strategically placed table on the court, and then powerbomb said fan through...

WATCH: Grizzlies mascot slams Wizards fan through table

“De’Von get the table” has always been one of my favorite wrestling lines. On Tuesday night it was Super Grizz, mascot of the Memphis Grizzlies who powerbomed a Washington Wizards fan though a table. I don’t know what’s worse. Wearing an old Gilbert Arenas jersey or going though the table. I guess it all works though.

Pistons' Chauncey Billups: Mentor now, front office later

Pistons guard Chauncey Billups often hears he can become the next great NBA coach. He is flattered, but Billups said he has his eye on the front office after he retires from the league. “Of course I have been thinking about my future the last five years,” Billups said. “I think a lot of people think that would be the natural progression because of what I do on the court. But...

Pistons Fire Maurice Cheeks: Why Cheeks Is Taking The Bullet For Joe Dumars’ Mistakes

In what was somewhat of a surprising move, the Detroit Pistons fired their head coach Maurice Cheeks on Sunday.  The Pistons are pinning their struggles on Cheeks rather than on the fact that they made the decision to put Brandon Jennings and Josh Smith on the same team together in addition to signing Josh Smith to a contract that is impossible to  trade. The point I’m making...

Nick Calathes and Marc Gasol scored 18 points each, and the Memphis Grizzlies survived a career-best 37 points from Washington's Bradley Beal to defeat the Wizards 92-89 on Tuesday night. Beal was unable to convert down the stretch, though, including missing a 21-footer with 12.9 seconds left that would have tied the game. Zach Randolph split two free throws with 11.5 seconds...

Memphis, Tenn. — Bradley Beal said he was “having fun” on his career night, but the Memphis Grizzlies got the last laugh as they defeated the Wizards 92-89 in Memphis. While the night belonged to Beal, who scored a career-high 37 points, he also learned a valuable lesson about being clutch. Beal went 15-24 in […]

Memphis Grizzlies Grab Magic’s Good Mojo

All great things come to an eventual end, as the Orlando Magic lost 86-81 Wednesday night to the visiting Memphis Grizzlies. To be honest, both teams looked eager to enter the All-Star Break as swiftly as possible. Memphis wore down their hosts with their much maligned halfcourt sets and slowed-down pace. Memphis won despite only shooting 2-of-12 from 3-point range thanks to their...
