The Los Angeles Lakers struggles in the backcourt have been well documented the past few seasons and especially this season with their lack of offensive production. Although the Lakers will probably not be able to get Deron Williams, due to the salary cap issue among other things, they are looking at other cheaper options to help bolster their backcourt. League sources have told Yahoo! Sports that the Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers have discussed a deal for the Lakers to acquire guard Ramon Sessions.
The report also added that, “no deal is imminent but the Lakers have viewed Sessions as a candidate who could help their depletedbackcourt.” The injury to Steve Blake has really put the Lakers behind the eight balloffensively as they have been relegated to relying on rookie Andrew Goudelock, rookie Darius Morris, and old man river Derek Fisher (who is now 37 years old).

A Closer Look at the Lakers using Advanced Statistics
The Lakers are 11-9 and only 1 game back from the Clippers (10-6). That is not bad considering the loss of Lamar Odom and the most winning coach in history Phil Jackson. But are the Lakers in a good position to contend again this year? I would argue no. Looking at the Lakers' closely, it becomes evident that there...
