Los Angeles Lakers Make A Roster Move
USA TODAY Sports

On Sunday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers  will host the Portland Trail Blazers in California.

They are coming off a 122-119 victory over the Phoenix Suns, which snapped a three-game losing streak (and was their first victory on the road).

Recently, the Lakers assigned Maxwell Lewis to the G League, and he has now been  recalled to the NBA.

Via Ryan Ward of Lakers Nation on Saturday evening: "Lakers have recalled forward Maxwell Lewis from the South Bay Lakers."

Lewis played in Saturday's G League game between the South Bay Lakers and Rip City Remix (the Lakers lost 114-110).

In 27 minutes, he had 13 points and one assist while shooting 5/8 from the field and 1/2 from the three-point range.

The 21-year-old was the 40th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft out of Pepperdine, and during his final season in college, he averaged 17.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists per contest while shooting 46.8% from the field and 34.8% from the three-point range.

So far this season, Lewis has appeared in three games for the Lakers but has yet to score his first career point.

Following the Trail Blazers, the Lakers will play their next game against the Memphis Grizzlies (at home) on Tuesday evening.

Last season, the Lakers were the seventh seed in the Western Conference with a 43-39 record.

They defeated the Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors in the first two rounds of the NBA playoffs but were swept by Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in the Conference Finals.
