Los Angeles Lakers Make A Roster Move Before Grizzlies Game
USA TODAY Sports

On Tuesday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers  will host the Memphis Grizzlies in California.

Recently, the team assigned Maxwell Lewis to the South Bay Lakers (G League), but he has now been recalled to the NBA.

Via Ryan Ward of Lakers Nation: "Lakers have recalled forward Maxwell Lewis from the South Bay Lakers."

Lewis has already been sent back and forth between South Bay and Los Angeles multiple times.

The 21-year-old was the 40th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft out of Pepperdine and has played in three games so far with the Lakers (he has yet to score his first points).

In his one G League Showcase Cup game, Lewis played 28 minutes and put up 13 points and one assist while shooting 5/8 from the field and 1/2 from the three-point range.

Last season (in college), he averaged 17.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists per contest while shooting 46.8% from the field and 34.8% from the three-point range in 31 games.

As for the Lakers, they are 5-5 in their first ten games and in the middle of a two-game winning streak.

Most recently, they defeated the Portland Trail Blazers by a score of 116-110 (at home) on Sunday evening.

Anthony Davis had a strong performance, putting up 30 points, 13 rebounds, six assists and three blocks while shooting 10/20 from the field in 41 minutes of playing time.

Following the Grizzlies, the Lakers will play their next game against the Sacramento Kings (on Friday evening) at home.
