Lou Williams: Players having two girlfriends is more common than you think
When Drake talks about your love life, are you proud or are you worried? Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Lou Williams was already well known among basketball fans, but he became famous in a while new way thanks to his mention in a Drake song.

In 2015, Drake dropped the song called “6 Man” that references Williams, who was a sixth man for Drake’s hometown team, the Toronto Raptors, in 2014-15. In the song, Drake talked about how Williams had two girlfriends who got along.

“6 man like Lou Will, 2 girls and they get along like I’m… (Louuuu)
Like I’m Lou Will, I just got the new deal,” the song goes.

Well Williams is enjoying a breakout season for the Los Angeles Clippers and is getting even more exposure as a result. He was featured in an SI piece by Lee Jenkins that was published on Thursday. In the article, Jenkins brings up the Drake song, which Williams commented on.

“I hear about it every day. Every single day,” Williams told Jenkins about the two girlfriends thing. “More players do that than you know. I was just the first person to have it mentioned on a song.”

Williams said that he is still seeing one of the girls but just friends with the other.

While many people could have multiple people they’re seeing, it’s seems uncommon for someone to have two girlfriends who know about the other and are fine with the arrangement. Floyd Mayweather certainly believes in the practice, though it hasn’t exactly worked out for him, so maybe it’s not a great idea.
