A few years ago I read Lucas Nogueira name on the NBADraft.net mock list. At the time Lucas was an 18 year-old Brazilian project that needed more seasoning in the world of basketball to be considered a 1st round pick of any sort. Now, 2 years have past and Lucas has grown on the international stage and is now considered a late first rounder. His 7 foot frame and length make him a superior shot blocker in any league he plays, however can he be that dominant shot blocker in the NBA (i.e. Samuel Dalembert) or does he have BUST written all over him? Lucas certainly has the potential and is definitely raw, but can he get a fire going inside and fulfill his potential? The New York Knicks are in need of a back-up PF to help the frontcourt of Tyson and Melo. Kenyon Martin is on the bubble because of financial flexibility, but a late first rounder can be financial plus for NY. With a player under contract for a few years at a low number, that player can learn the ” day in the life” of a NBA player with time to develop. The Knicks need to strike gold in the draft since they do not have much flexibility with the salary cap, so to find a player that can help or that has major potential is a MUST. Lucas Nogueira is on my radar! Peter A – Knickswag The post Lucas Nogueira on Knicks Draft Board? appeared first on Knickswag - A New York Knicks Blog - News, Rumors, and more!.
