Luke Ridnour's name has been floated on the trade block, and one potential destination for the Minnesota Timberwolves' point guard is the Utah Jazz. NBA reporter Chris Sheridan reported that Ridnour is on the block due to Ricky Rubio rounding back into form and the Wolves' glut of guards (J.J. Barea). The Utah Jazz are interested, but a swap of Ridnour for Alec Burks has been shot down. Utah may have to give up a first-round pick and Raja Bell's expiring contract to get Ridnour, ESPN 1500 reported. Rindour would get new life in Utah, which needs a point guard due to Mo Williams' thumb injury. He'd be an upgrade over Jamaal Tinsley. In 46 games this season, Ridnour is averaging 11.8 points, .89 3-pointers, 2.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.2 steals and .2 blocks in 30.7 minutes. Photo by Keith Allison.

Rubio added to BBVA Rising Stars game

MINNEAPOLIS When the 18-man roster for the BBVA Rising Stars game, a part of NBA All-Star weekend, was announced last week, there was at least one noteable omission. Two, actually, it turns out: Ricky Rubio and Sacramento's Isaiah Thomas, whom TNT's Kenny Smith announced Thursday were added to the pool of players. Rubio's initial snub was surprising less for his play...

NBA rookie wall is real but not easily defined

MINNEAPOLIS Derrick Williams saw it on tape. After last season, when he sat down and played back those games starting in February, around the All-Star Break, it was there. He'll admit to such now, a year out, now that the whole thing is behind him. It, in this instance, is the rookie wall, the vague notion that seems to be on the tip of everyone's tongues this time of year...

Jazz 100, Bucks 86

Paul Millsap and Al Jefferson each scored 19 points, Enes Kanter had 17 and a career-high five blocks, and the Utah Jazz defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 100-86 on Wednesday night. Kanter went 5 of 5 with five rebounds and a block during the second quarter when the Jazz took control after trailing by 12 in the first. Utah dominated inside as the Bucks were without the NBA's leading...

Timberwolves drop another airtight contest

MINNEAPOLIS There's this music that plays at the Target Center coming out of breaks when games are close late. It's got this "leading up to a great cage match," Rocky-esque vibe, high drama and such, the sort of thing that's supposed to inspire confidence and make the veins in players' temples bulge. On Friday, though, it was the Timberwolves' death...

Jazz-Kings Preview

The second meeting this week between the Utah Jazz and Sacramento Kings could be the last one ever. In search of a bounce-back performance Saturday night, the Jazz are looking to again capitalize on the lowly Kings, who now seem more likely to move north on a map than in the standings. Utah (28-23) has taken two of three season meetings versus Sacramento (17-33), including Monday...
