Luol Deng will miss Monday's game with the Los Angeles Lakers. Deng missed Saturday's game with a hamstring injury; he's day-to-day.
Jimmy Butler filled in with a Deng-esque line: 18 points (5-13 FG, 8-8 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and
three steals. Look for him to continue starting while Deng is out.
Butler is owned in 2 percent of Yahoo leagues. He's a risky play.

THE RETURN IS NEAR
Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose may participate in full contact practice this week, meaning his return to NBA game action might not be too far off.
For some odd reason, people foolishly believed they could beat Brian Scalabrine one-on-one. Ya know, because he was the goofy white guy that sat at the end of the bench during this NBA career. If you remember, we told you about Scalabrine offering a challenge in Boston about month ago anyone who wanted to play him, with the intention of completely obliterating them once he got them...
Injured Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose continued to participate in more contact work Tuesday during practice. "Derrick went to the next step today, did more contact," Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau told the Chicago Tribune. "But everyone has to be patient." The Bulls still project a February return for the former NBA Most Valuable Player as he continues his rehab...
ESPN Chicago first reported the injury timetable for Derrick Rose’s possible return in February. Rose will be ready for full contact practice by the end of the week, coach Thibodeau revealed.
The Bulls have fared well without their MVP player, and are currently locked in at the 5th seed tied with the Brooklyn Nets. Rose participated in some ‘light’ practice today, which comes...
He’s been cleared for more contact, so we went to the next step today…It’s going to be a while. It’s the next step in the rehab,” he continued. “He’s playing more, he’s practicing more.”
“In practice, you’re trying to get it as close to a game-like condition as you can, with the understanding that there’s nothing like a game. There’s nothing that matches...
CHICAGO -- Kirk Hinrich scored a season-high 22 points, and the Chicago Bulls pulled away late to beat the Los Angeles Lakers 95-83 Monday at the United Center. It was a game when something had to give. The Bulls started the night a mediocre 11-11 at home this season, while the Lakers were 5-13 away from the Staples Center. Monday's defeat was Los Angeles' sixth road loss...
Former NBA player and coach Bill Cartwright has been hired as coach of the Osaka Evessa in Japan's professional basketball league.
Cartwright coached the Chicago Bulls from 2001-03. Osaka announced Tuesday he would guide the team for the rest of the 2013 season.
Osaka is in ninth place in the 10-team Western Conference with a 5-19 record with half a season remaining.
Tom Thibodeau elaborated on Monday his decision to bench Joakim Noah during the Bulls' overtime loss on Saturday to the Grizzlies.
Carlos Boozer averaged 23.0 points and 14.8 rebounds last week.
Kirk Hinrich scored 22 points, Marco Belinelli added 15 points, and the Chicago Bulls pulled away down the stretch to beat the struggling Los Angeles Lakers 95-83 on Monday night.
Belinelli came up big in the closing minutes, scoring eight points during an 18-4 run that broke a 75-75 tie and sent the Lakers to their ninth loss in 11 games.
He started it by hitting two free throws...
Is this the year Durant gets his first of many MVP's?
Frustrations appear to be taking their toll on the Los Angeles Lakers, who can't seem to right the ship.
The Chicago Bulls, in contrast, have mostly held their own, but coach Tom Thibodeau was anything but pleased with their latest effort.
The slumping Lakers try to avoid their longest road losing streak in eight seasons Monday night against a Bulls team that could be without...
