“The World’s Most Famous Arena,” Madison Square Garden, home of the New York Knicks and currently under a $968 million renovation, has been given a 10 year notice to move from it’s Seventh Avenue location in NYC so Penn Station can be renewed. According to the NY Times: The New York City Council notified the arena that it has 10 years to vacate its 45-year-old premises and find a new home, the Garden’s fifth since it opened in 1879. [...] “This is the first step in finding a new home for Madison Square Garden and building a new Penn Station that is as great as New York and suitable for the 21st century,” said Christine C. Quinn, the City Council speaker. “This is an opportunity to reimagine and redevelop Penn Station as a world-class transportation destination.”

Tyson Chandler has really skinny legs

I guess it’s somewhat normal for extremely tall individuals tend to have incredibly skinny legs, but Knicks center Tyson Chandler’s gams look downright ridiculous to the point that you might think this picture is photoshopped, which, from all accounts, it’s not… It’s all well and good that Chandler’s upper body is looking quite chiseled and firm, but would it kill him...

Knicks Free Agency Look In: Ivan Johnson

Ivan Johnson, the 6’8” 255 pound beast of a power forward is still out in free agency land. He is a bruiser with a jumper, plain and simple. He is not the high flyer that K-Mart is, or not the unproven potential of Jeremy Tyler, but he is a solid PF who could easily average a double-double for a playoff team like NY. Could the Knicks be interested in Ivan Johnson? Brief History...

He was a big boon to their interior as the Knicks suffered from massive injury woes to their big men. But the power forward...

Knicks Need to Look in The Mirror: Don’t Talk About It, Be About It!

By Chris Connolly As we proceed further into the offseason and the roster continues to take form for the Knicks, I think it’s time for returning players to take a long hard look in the mirror going into next season. The general core from the Knicks 54 win campaign will be returning for another run at a NBA title. While it is all well and good that they are returning, each player...

Tyson Chandler has some skinny legs

While we here at TNLP debate the authenticity (photoshopped?) of this photo of New York Knicks center Tyson Chandler, if the image is untouched, then Tyson has some skinny legs. We talkin’ Joe Montana legs…. *** Tyson Chandler’s skinny legs [Reddit NBA]

CC video of the day: Melo isn't signing with Lakers or joining LeBron

Breathe easy Knicks fans. Carmelo Anthony isn't going anywhere. At least for now. However, if you are a Lakers fan or a Heat fan this bit of news may bum you out. Anthony is set to be a free agent after next season, if he does not exercise his player option for the 2014-15 season, and if Lakers nation had any hopes of him moving back to the Western Conference or if LeBron has...

Carmelo Anthony Says He Probably Won’t Sign With Lakers, Team Up With LeBron James Anywhere (Video)

It’s well known that the Lakers are targeting the summer of 2014 and its vaunted free agent class to jump back into serious title contention. However, you can probably take one of the team’s likely top targets off of the board. TMZ’s cameras caught up with Carmelo Anthony leaving a Hollywood spot earlier this week, and flatly asked the Knicks forward if he sees himself wearing...

Metta World Peace Says He Plans To Change His Name Again (Video)

The man formerly known as Ron Artest changed his name to Metta World Peace right before the start of the Lakers 2011 regular season. Clevver News is reporting that World Peace is preparing to change his name again, as he begins his first season with his hometown New York Knicks. “We are going to do do a name change, but I can’t tell you what it is,” World Peace told an interviewer...

Metta World Peace Says He’s Changing Name Again, But Not Legally (Video)

Metta World Peace is definitely no stranger to headlines, but it appears we may have to start calling him something else in them again soon. World Peace, who recently signed a new deal with the Knicks, will apparently have a new name to go along, although he says he won’t change his name legally. Formerly known as Ron Artest, he changed his name to Metta World Peace in September...
