CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Corey Maggette scored a season-high 29 points, Gerald Henderson hit some big shots in the fourth quarter, and the Charlotte Bobcats overcame a 20-point, first-half deficit to beat the Orlando Magic 100-84 Tuesday night. The Bobcats came in having lost 21 of their last 22 games, but seemed to get a spark after coach Paul Silas was ejected in the second quarter with the team trailing by 18. The Bobcats also got a big game from rookie center Bismack Biyombo, who battled toe-to-toe with Dwight Howard and had 10 points and a career-high 15 rebounds. Howard had 15 points and 17 rebounds, and Ryan Anderson added 14 points and 11 boards for the Magic.

Diaw's games-played streak comes to an end

Boris Diaw might have played his last game as a Bobcat. If so, then Tuesday's 100-84 victory over the Magic was anything but a fond farewell. Diaw did not play by coach's decision, breaking a streak of 384 consecutive game appearances. That pre-dated Diaw being traded from Phoenix to the Bobcats three years ago. The Bobcats are in a youth movement, which means playing D...

Diaw inactive for Wednesday's game

Bobcats coach Paul Silas says Boris Diaw will be inactive for Wednesday night's game against Utah. That news comes after Silas refused to play Diaw against Orlando Tuesday night, snapping the veteran's string of 384 consecutive games played. Silas says he ''doesn't know'' if Diaw will play again this season. Silas has grown increasingly frustrated by...

Agent: Diaw, Bobcats reach buyout deal

Boris Diaw's days in Charlotte are finally over. The agent for veteran forward Boris Diaw says his client has reached an agreement on a contract buyout with the Charlotte Bobcats that will allow him to sign with another team. Doug Neustadt said his client is leaving Charlotte on good terms but that ''losing was tough this year and he really wants to be able to participate...

Magic crumble late in loss to Bobcats

CHARLOTTE, N.C. Are the Charlotte Bobcats Better Without Their Coach?

I think we learned something tonight Sports Fans—the Charlotte Bobcats play better without their coach. In case you were not watching (don’t even try to lie and say you were; Santa Claus will hear you!), the team was well on its way to another humiliating loss to the Orlando Magic Tuesday night when they were [...]

Bobcats 100, Magic 84

Bobcats C Biyombo ready to return against Magic

Bobcats coach Paul Silas says rookie center Bismack Biyombo will be back in Charlotte's starting lineup Tuesday night against the Orlando Magic. Biyombo missed the last two games because of a strained left shoulder. Biyombo had one of his better games of the season against the Magic on Jan. 17, scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds against three-time NBA Defensive Player...

Please Someone Tell Me There is Hope for these Bobcats

I think Jerry Maguire said it best in the pivotal scene at the end of the 1996 movie when he said: “We live in a cynical world. A cynical world. And we work in a business of tough competitors. I love you. You… complete me. “ Unlike Dorothy, the Bobcats do not have us at hello [...]

Diaw, Bobcats parting ways?

If you watched the San Antonio Spurs play the Bulls and Nuggets in the last week, you know the Spurs had trouble on the glass in both games. With the trade deadline approaching, you're going to hear a ton of rumors that most likely won't come to fruition.  Then a bunch of guys that didn't get traded are going to get bought out and be rumored to go to a contender.  The...

At a loss against... the Bobcats

. . . Where to being with this one? There is no sense trying to, well, make sense of this one. A 20-point lead, an easy win, a dominant performance against a bottom-feeder team. It was everything you expect from an upper-echelon team. Those kind of teams absolutely bury opponents in games like this. Twenty turns to 25 which turns to 30. That is just something the Magic have nto...

Diaw Requested Buyout From Bobcats

Boris Diaw has asked the Bobcats to buy him out by the March 23 deadline.

CoachSpeak: Sartin on Wells

The Bobcats of Bogue Chitto High went 9-3 in 2011 under the direction of head coach Gareth Sartin. The program has produced several quality football players over the years, but one of the better Bobcats in recent memory, Brandon Wells, has the chance to play in the SEC. Wells' story of bench warmer to blue chip is rather interesting.

Bismack is no BiyUMbo!

Ok, fine, it´s Biyombo with an O but that didn´t fit into the headline so I had to finnagle it a bit. It´s still pronounced the same way I think. To remind you, here´s what I said about Bismack back on February 24: Let’s start with Bismack Biyombo who’s currently owned in 14% of Yahoo! leagues. Over his last 5 he’s averaging 26 mpg/5.6 ppg/8.4 rpg/3.4 bpg. I don’t know...
