There was a giddiness in the Magic locker room following Monday's win over the Timberwolves. This win just felt good. It took a special effort and revealed a lot about this Orlando team. There is, of course, just one question left to answer: Yes, this team can compete day-to-day and game-to-game, but is this is a .500 team, is this a winning team? Is this a Playoff team? "Win as many games. Have a winning record. Maybe make the playoffs," said J.J. Redick when asked about the team's goals for this season. "You don’t want to be on a losing team. That’s never an expectation you want to set for yourself. That’s never the bar, it’s never the standard you want to set for yourself. You want to be on a winning team." That is definitely the attitude the Magic needed to take with so few people expecting much from them. Orlando may have already taken advantage of some teams taking the team a bit lightly without a "superstar" to dominate the ba...

Magic's Glen Davis out with shoulder sprain

The Orlando Magic received a scare when Glen Davis was fouled and dislocated his left shoulder late in Wednesday's victory over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday. On Thursday, an MRI revealed a shoulder sprain. The injury will keep Davis sidelined four to six weeks, but will not require season-ending surgery. "After further evaluation by our medical staff, Glen Davis has...

Glen Davis' injury mars Magic win

Glen Davis has always played with a certain amount of reckless abandon. His driving into the lane looking for contact and a chance to put a shot up at the rim is nothing new. Seeing Davis on the floor, writhing in pain and unable to collect himself and get back up was the concerning part. With the Magic on their way to a sometimes comfortable, sometimes uneasy 90-83 victory over...

Glen Davis diagnosed with shoulder strain

The Magic received some very encouraging news Thursday, a day after Davis was writhing in pain and holding his shoulder late in a win over the Wizards on Wednesday. Everyone feared the worst, but Rob Hennigan announced that Davis suffered a shoulder sprain and there was no structural damage to his shoulder. ...

How the Magic Came to Orlando (Part 3 of 3)

High octane sporting events all have a few things in common: screaming fans, jock jams, and cheerleaders.
