Hall of Famer and Lakers legend Magic Johnson lashed out on Twitter and TV on Wednesday at the team's recent decision-making, in particular executive vice president Jim Buss' handling of the team's recent head coaching search. The day began with Johnson tweeting, "The reason I haven't tweeted in 2 days is because I've been mourning Phil Jackson not being hired as the Lakers head coach." It was his first tweet in two days, and kicked off a firestorm. On Wednesday night, Johnson said on ESPN, "First, hiring Mike Brown -- he wasn't the right coach. He's a great coach but not the right coach for the Lakers. And I don't feel Mike D'Antoni is the right coach for the Lakers. Especially when you have Phil Jackson sitting out there, who wanted to be the Laker coach. Jim Buss decided he didn't want Phil Jackson, he wanted Mike D'Antoni. And that's OK, but why didn't you just say that? But the fans were cheering for Phil Jack...

Magic Johnson: I don’t believe in Jim Buss

Magic Johnson has been vocal about his displeasure with the Lakers over the past week, and now he’s taking aim at the team’s leadership. Magic ripped Mike Brown in an interview with USA Today on Sunday, saying the coach deserved to be fired by the Lakers. He then announced on Wednesday that he had been silent on Twitter the previous few days because he was so upset that the...

Magic not a fan of the D'Antoni hire, Jim Buss in general

Magic Johnson is no longer a part owner of the Los Angeles Lakers, but he's still an influential figure in LA and the NBA community in general.  When Mike Brown was fired, Johnson went on the most public of public crusades to get Phil Jackson hired.  When that didn't work out, Johnson took to Twitter to express his dissatisfaction in Jackson not getting hired (H/T to Kurt...

Magic Johnson: Lakers hired wrong coach

Add Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson to the list of people who believe the team made the wrong coaching hire this week. Johnson said Wednesday on ESPN's "NBA Countdown" that the Lakers should have brought back former coach Phil Jackson rather than hiring Mike D'Antoni to replace the fired Mike Brown. "I don't believe in Jim Buss," Johnson...

Taiwanese animators decimate Jim Buss, Lakers

We love it when the Taiwanese animators put their spin on the NBA. The Buss family, however, might not share our enthusiasm for this particular video. Jim Buss is flat-out called an idiot (he drives around in a "short buss" and wears a bucket on his head). And the Lakers are a bunch of old, walker-using, has-beens who will basically inspire riots as they try to run...

19 NSFW Vulgar Steelers Haters Dropping F-Bomb Tweets For Monday Night Football

Steelers fans can really be the worst. For example, @SilkDaddy53 said this to his haters last night: “If u hate Steelers fans then…f*ck you with Magic Johnson Dick”. The bro is wishing AIDS upon people who don’t like Steelers fans. Ease up a bit, SilkDaddy53. Not that we are condoning his actions, but we can totally see where his frustrations come from. As bad as Steelers...

Kobe Bryant’s True Feelings On Mike Brown

The other day, Magic Johnson ripped Lakers’ frontman, Jim Buss, bad. Like really bad, saying that he had no trust in him, in his father…..but not him. Kobe on the other hand, decided to come to Jim’s aid but also shed some light on his true  feelings for Mike Brown….if you can read between the lines. “His opinion is valued greater than most others because of what he...

Kareem statue set to be unveiled Friday

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar will finally be honored with a statue outside of Staples Center on Friday, before the Lakers host the Phoenix Suns. It's easy to forget just how amazing Abdul-Jabbar was as a player, especially for younger generations who never had a chance to see him in person. His devastating sky hook was one of the most unstoppable moves of all-time. It's a wonder...

Mike D’Antoni Los Angeles Laker introduction press conference.

Who knew D’Antoni was mildly funny?

Magic Johnson rips Mike Brown

The Los Angeles Lakers surprised some people by firing former head coach Mike Brown on Friday, but only because they chose to do it six games into the season. Most of us thought he would survive a bit longer, but very few believed he would last the entire year. If you ask Magic Johnson, Brown should have never been there in the first place. During an interview with USA TODAY Sports...

Video: Kobe Bryant reacts to Magic’s comments, defends Jim Buss

I have really been intrigued by the saga unfolding out in LA LA land. The Los Angeles Lakers publicly welcomed new head coach Mike D’Antoni to their bench on Friday. Though D’Antoni will never be held in the highest regard in my green goggles, I must say his usually very dry press conferences turned candid and amusing Friday. [...]

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's skyhook captured in bronze

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's skyhook has been captured in bronze for future generations of basketball fans. Staples Center unveiled a nearly 16-foot-tall statue of the top scorer in NBA history Friday night, immortalizing Jabbar's famed hook shot alongside statues of fellow Los Angeles Lakers greats Magic Johnson and Jerry West. Abdul-Jabbar pronounced himself humbled and grateful...

How D'Antoni Adapts Will Gauge Success With Lakers

The hiring of Mike D'Antoni didn't go well with a lot of people and many Laker fans. His fit with the Lakers has been scrutinized even before coaching a single game. But whether you believe in D'Antoni or not, he is now the head coach and mostly likely here to stay regardless of the outcome of the season. After what happened between the firing of Mike Brown and the announcement...

As you may figure, the folks over at Next Media Animation have put together another classic clip dealing with the Los Angeles Lakers hiring of new head coach Mike D'Antoni. The ire of their hatred was Lakers vice president Jim Buss who proclaimed in this clip as to be the reason why Phil Jackson isn't back in the city of Angels:
