The San Antonio Spurs might have gotten younger in seasons past but the core of Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili aren't getting younger. And if you are Ginobili, then playing at a frenetic pace and willingness to throw your body everywhere on the court, is the norm.

And after suffering a right elbow injury right before the playoffs started and eventually playing with a fractured elbow against Memphis during the playoffs, rest seemed to be what the doctor ordered for Ginobili.

Although Ginobili did play for Argentina at the 2011 FIBA Americas tournament, he did not to sign with a team during the lockout and according to Manu (via El Litoral) the added rest did him wonders.

I am 34-years old and I don't have many more seasons left. I feel active and strong, and I want to play.  I had a great rest with my family and friends and my body will thank me.

Talk about good news heading into training camp and a short season for Spurs fans and coaching staff.

As Manu recently stated, he feels the shortened season will be difficult. And with the way he plays on the court, a healthy, well-rested Manu on the court will help with the rigors of a schedule crammed with more weekly games than he is used to.

Besides, as some would say, the Spurs go as Manu goes.
