That NBA Lottery Pick:
You knew before the start of the NBA preseason that Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban would have his say about the Los Angeles Lakers title hopes.
Here are the words from the billionaires mouth:
"The Lakers have done this before. Gary Payton and Karl Malone and Kobe and Shaq were all together, and it didn't work," said Cuban. "It takes great chemistry. ... It takes guys wanting to be there. I don't know if all their guys want to be there."
"It's going to be interesting," said Cuban. "Look, they're going to have a great team, but I remember when we made our run, we weren't supposed to win any series. Remember the Lakers were the defending champs, and we swept them and they had everybody back."

Despite the Lakers’ headline-grabbing offseason moves that put together the best starting five in the NBA, GM Mitch Kupchak is still busy solidifying a somewhat thin Lakers’ bench. The Lakers are set at point guard, shooting guard, and power forward, not in terms of talent but in terms of players that have guaranteed roster spots. [...]

James Worthy, who announced his new role as the Los Angeles Lakers main studio analyst on Time Warner Cable SportsNet, says, "I wasn't a fan of Dwight Howard."
Worthy says he likes players who just do their job, and didn't like how Howard handled the situation in Orlando.
"Who said this, I don't like this coach. To me, that's nonsense," Worthy...
Dwight Howard still is not expected to be ready for the start of training camp. And, well, that is all. Howard, who joined the Lakers as part of a four-team trade last month, is rehabbing from surgery in April to address a herniated disk. At the time of the trade, it was reported that Howard would miss the start of the 2012-13 season. Since training camp happens before the season...
Since taking over his Facebook page, Kobe Bryant has provided a glimpse into the softer side of the “Black Mamba.” This photo he posted has to be one of my favorites! It’s a young Kobe seated next to his dad, Joe “Jellybean” Bryant. He even had a fro!
Dwight Howard participated in his first practice with the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, going through a lengthy workout with no apparent concerns about his surgically repaired back.
Howard worked out with the Lakers' new starting five during much of the afternoon practice at the Lakers' training complex, running offensive drills with Steve Nash and playing a little 1-on...
With a projected five new rotation players, the Dallas Mavericks are already showing signs of a team coming together, building chemistry before training camp begins. O.J. Mayo was amazed to see Dirk Nowitzki already training for the upcoming season at the Mavericks practice facility, a welcome sight given Dirk’s lack of a regimen during last [...]

I’ve been voicing the same concern regarding Dwight Howard- whether it was Dwight with the Lakers or elsewhere – what’s up with his back? As expected, the Lakers had an evaluation of Howard at their facilities this week and confirmed that he will miss both training camp and preseason. But this shouldn’t be cause for [...]
Dwight Howard, who was traded from the Orlando Magic to the Los Angeles Lakers this summer, said he doesn't have any regrets about the series of events that occurred during the past year. "I think everything happened the way that it was meant to happen," Howard said in interview that aired Sunday on ESPN. "I really just wish some of the lies and some of the things...
