5TH QUARTER MAGAZINE:
Matt Barnes is currently an unrestricted free agent. IamAGM.com translated a Matt Barnes interview by TMZ. In the interview, Barnes stated:
I’m actually a free agent right now. The Lakers are one of the teams we are still talking to. There’s a couple of other teams. Hopefully we get this arrest situation out of the way so I can go ahead and move forward with my career.
The arrest Matt Barnes is referring to is from the one in July that happened just outside of Los Angeles. Matt Barnes can definitely be a great addition to the Lakers bench. He may not be a scorer, but he definitely puts in great minutes on defense. Barnes may need to take a pay cut to play for the Lakers, who are in luxury tax nation at the moment. Regardless of what team he signs with, Barnes’ pay and playing time will diminish.
