NBA free agency is in full swing, and the defending Eastern Conference champions are adding some depth to their already talented roster.
The Miami Heat signed Maurice Harkless to a one-year, $3.6 million deal, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Harkless turned down "more lucrative deals" for a chance to play alongside Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo in Miami.

Harkless joined the New York Knicks last season in a three-team trade that sent Marcus Morris to the Los Angeles Clippers. He previously spent time with the Portland Trail Blazers and Orlando Magic.
The 27-year-old averaged 5.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game last season between the Clippers and Knicks. He shot 50.2% from the field and 34.7% from beyond the arc.
