Mavericks center Brendan Haywood is back in the starting lineup against Washington.
He had missed four games since spraining his left ankle in the opening minute of the Mavericks' game March 5 at Oklahoma City.
Haywood wasn't the only big man the Mavericks got back Tuesday. Center Brandan Wright was active after missing six games with concussion-like symptoms.
Watching the Dallas Mavericks crash and burn over the weekend in a three-game road trip against teams that are more than beatable was not an easy thing to do for most fans of the defending NBA Champion. The fact that in the 4th quarter of Friday's loss in Sacramento and Saturday's loss at Golden State there wasn't a single moment where the Mavericks trailed by less than...

The Dallas Mavericks are getting some relief after that dreaded and ugly stretch of nine games in 12 days.
The defending NBA champions, the league's oldest lineup with all its starters and two top reserves being at least 10-year veterans, have a chance to regroup. They are in a nearly two-week span without having to play on consecutive nights.

Chandler Parsons or Nick Young? In all honesty I think it’s a tossup. Chandler’s dunk has the Ibaka factor working in it’s favor, but Young’s slam was finished directly on top of Mahinmi’s dome. I’ve been going back and forth on this all day, but it’s come time that I make up my damn mind. I’m rolling with Bean Burrito. That’s Nick Young.
As in the words of The Rock, “finally the Mavericks have come back to Dallas!”, and they won. Dallas faced one of the lowest winning teams in the NBA tonight and came out with a victory, barely.
Why do I say barely? Well, there was a point in time during the game, that Dallas actually let the Wizards have the lead and gave them the hope of a win that I’m sure was not in the...
DALLAS (AP) -- Dirk Nowtizki scored 27 points, Jason Terry had 24 and the Dallas Mavericks got a much-needed victory, beating the Washington Wizards 107-98 on Tuesday night.
The defending NBA champions had lost eight of their previous 10 games. That included three road losses in three nights before a welcome two-day break leading into consecutive home games against the league'...
There’s no way around it.
The last ten games, which have seen the Mavs go 2-8, have been absolutely abysmal. The Mavs’ execution, effort, and basic desire to play quality basketball weren’t at the level needed in order to compete for a championship. Whether it was due to injuries or contract uncertainty beyond this year, the Mavericks have simply lost too many games against...

The defending champs don’t look like champs of late. The Dallas Mavericks have lost three in a row and eight of their last ten. If they don’t get it together soon, the odds of them defending their title are virtually zilch.
The Mavs have been dealing with injuries, inconsistent play and their age is really starting to hurt them through this grueling schedule (who else saw that...
The Dallas Mavericks are happy to be home and happy to have a couple of days off from games.
They're probably also happy about their first two opponents this week.
The Mavericks will try to end a three-game slide as they host the NBA's worst teams starting Tuesday night against the Washington Wizards.
