Dallas Mavericks reserve center Brendan Haywood left Thursday's win at Miami with a strained right hip flexor muscle. Haywood suffered the injury early in the fourth quarter. He hurt himself on the offensive end of the floor and committed a foul on defense to stop the game, walking directly off the court into the locker room. Haywood stretched out the injury and returned to the bench late in the period. He did not return to the game, watching as Dallas rallied for a 95-93 win. A team official said after the game that Haywood is expected to play in Game 3 in Dallas on Sunday. He is listed as day to day. Haywood scored two points in eight minutes Thursday. In Game 1, the 7-footer had three points, seven rebounds and three blocks in 14 minutes.
