The defending champs don’t look like champs of late. The Dallas Mavericks have lost three in a row and eight of their last ten. If they don’t get it together soon, the odds of them defending their title are virtually zilch.
The Mavs have been dealing with injuries, inconsistent play and their age is really starting to hurt them through this grueling schedule (who else saw that coming?). They just dropped all three games in a back-to-back-to-back on the road, including a fourth-quarter collapse to the Suns and a couple of double-digit losses to the Kings and Warriors. They look bad.
Veteran point guard Jason Kidd said he was ready for three games in three days, but coach Rick Carlisle felt differently and sat Kiddon Saturday night. He wasn’t the only Maverick in street clothes though. Both Brendan Haywood (ankle) and Delonte West (finger) didn’t suit up, and Brandan Wright was still back in Dallas with a concussion.
Jason Terry says the team isn’t playing like a team, that they do...

Mavericks center Brendan Haywood is back in the starting lineup against Washington.
He had missed four games since spraining his left ankle in the opening minute of the Mavericks' game March 5 at Oklahoma City.
Haywood wasn't the only big man the Mavericks got back Tuesday. Center Brandan Wright was active after missing six games with concussion-like symptoms.
Watching the Dallas Mavericks crash and burn over the weekend in a three-game road trip against teams that are more than beatable was not an easy thing to do for most fans of the defending NBA Champion. The fact that in the 4th quarter of Friday's loss in Sacramento and Saturday's loss at Golden State there wasn't a single moment where the Mavericks trailed by less than...
Just when you thought that you had seen it all, the below photo has come into our lives of a Dallas Mavericks fan who has a striking resemblance to star, Dirk Nowitzki.
Seriously, the resemblance is uncanny:

I think I have asked this question before, but I have to ask it again, who is this team and what have you done with my Dallas Mavericks? At this time last season, the Mavericks were riding pretty good on an upward swing and being the talk of the town, the NBA and all around; well, they are being talked about again this season, but not in a good way.
The way things are now, looks...
Dallas Mavericks center Brendan Haywood and power forward Brandan Wright are expected to play Tuesday night against the Washington Wizards.Haywood has missed the last four games after spraining his ankle in a March 5 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder and Wright has been absent for six games due to a concussion suffered March 2 against the New Orleans Hornets."I'll be playing...
DALLAS (AP) -- Dirk Nowtizki scored 27 points, Jason Terry had 24 and the Dallas Mavericks got a much-needed victory, beating the Washington Wizards 107-98 on Tuesday night.
The defending NBA champions had lost eight of their previous 10 games. That included three road losses in three nights before a welcome two-day break leading into consecutive home games against the league'...
There’s no way around it.
The last ten games, which have seen the Mavs go 2-8, have been absolutely abysmal. The Mavs’ execution, effort, and basic desire to play quality basketball weren’t at the level needed in order to compete for a championship. Whether it was due to injuries or contract uncertainty beyond this year, the Mavericks have simply lost too many games against...

The Dallas Mavericks are happy to be home and happy to have a couple of days off from games.
They're probably also happy about their first two opponents this week.
The Mavericks will try to end a three-game slide as they host the NBA's worst teams starting Tuesday night against the Washington Wizards.
Dallas (23-20) has lost seven of nine within a 12-day span, a stretch...
