Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

The Mavericks intend to waive shooting guard Tyler Dorsey and sign shooting guard A.J. Lawson to a two-way contract, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Dorsey, 26, is 6-foot-5 and has appeared in three games with the Mavs after signing a two-way deal in July.

Originally drafted by the Hawks in the second round (No. 41 overall) in 2017, he was traded to the Grizzlies midway through his second season. He appeared in 21 games with Memphis before playing internationally in Israel and Greece.

Dorsey carries NBA career averages of 6.6 points and 2.3 rebounds, shooting 39 percent from the field, in 107 total games

Lawson, 22, is 6-6 and was waived by the Timberwolves back on Dec. 7. He has appeared in one NBA game, this season, after going undrafted in 2021. He has been playing with the College Park SkyHawks of the G League.
