For a third year, Bucks forward Luc Richard Mbah a Moute will give back to a program that he participated in growing up. The NBA and the Milwaukee Bucks announced Thursday that Mbah a Moute will serve as a coach for Basketball without Borders Africa when it returns to Johannesburg, South Africa from Aug. 30-Sept. 2 this year. Mbah a Moute, a former Basketball without Borders camper, will be joined coaching the camp in South Africa by former NBA star Dikembe Mutombo, Chicago Bulls forward Luol Deng, Bulls guard C.J. Watson and Oklahoma City Thunder teammates Serge Ibaka and Cole Aldrich. The 2012 schedule for Basketball without Borders will feature two first-time locations, in Japan and Russia, as well as the return to South Africa. BWB features top youth players from each region, as selected by the NBA and FIBA, training under NBA players and coaches. 21 former campers have been drafted into the NBA. "Basketball without Borders showcases the NBA's commitment to using basketball as a tool to connect with communities around the world, and we are thrilled to bring the program to two new countries this year," Kathy Behrens, NBA Executive Vice President, Social Responsibility & Player Programs said in a release. "Thanks to the support of FIBA and our group of dedicated current and former NBA players and coaches, BWB continues to provide elite training for top young basketball talent around the world while helping to bring attention to important social issues."
