The injury update on Mehmet Okur isn’t good. The bulky center for the Utah Jazz is out for the rest of the regular season due to lingering issues regarding his Achilles and his back. Mehmet Okur ruptured his Achilles last season and just hasn’t been able to recover. As a result, he’s had a very sub par campaign. The good news for the Jazz and Okur is he’s expected to return to health next season. The former All-Star averaged 4.9 points and 2.3 rebounds this season in 13 games, while shooting 35.5% from the field and 31.3% on three-pointers. Considering he played in at least 72 games for the Jazz in each of the last six seasons, his lack of durability this year is surprising. The Jazz say that Mehmet Okur might be available if the team makes the playoffs. Two problems: 1) These Jazz aren’t making the playoffs. 2) The Jazz wouldn’t be dumb enough to risk Okur’s future to play him in the postseason. Mehmet Okur - Injury Update Post from: EveryJoe
