Dwight Howard Gets Scare From Bucks Mascot Bango’s Statue Trick (Video)

Dwight Howard has been known to have a signature spin move to avoid opposing defenders. On Thursday, his footwork was put to the test against the Milwaukee Bucks’ mascot, Bango. Prior to the Los Angeles Lakers’ matchup with the Bucks, Howard was spotted walking toward his team’s locker room. The 27-year-old’s peaceful stroll through the hallways at BMO Harris Bradley Center...

Kobe Bryant Reverse Dunk against the Warriors (Video)

I’ll be honest. At 34 years of age, I thought the number of monster dunks we saw from Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant would be down to a minimum. Realistically, 17 years in the league and over 40,000 minutes on his legs, I just didn’t think it would he would be able to consistently still rise over defenders and finish with authority at the rim. I couldn’t have been more...

Kobe Bryant’s Reverse Dunk Vs. Golden State (Video)

The Golden State Warriors hammered the Los Angeles Lakers Monday night in what seemed like an exhibition match rather than an NBA game; by the way Los Angeles helped out the Utah Jazz (just back one game from the 8th seed) with their loss.  The Lakers looked like they have most of the season: befuddled [...]The post Kobe Bryant’s Reverse Dunk Vs. Bucks Mascot Bango Startles Dwight Howard (Video)

Anyone else wondering why the Milwaukee Bucks’ mascot isn’t a buck? Yea me neither. Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard had an embarrassing moment before his team’s 113-103 loss to the Bucks last night. When entering the BMO Harris Bradley Center, Milwaukee’s mascot Bango, gave Howard the scare. Check the video out here: H/T to Pro Basketball Talk for the video.

Free throws, mistakes nearly cost Lakers win

MINNEAPOLIS The basketball is in Steve Nash's hands, then quickly tossed away. The ball is a rebound that no longer matters. Ricky Rubio's hands are on his head. The clock rests at zero. He doesn't know where to walk or to look. Jason Phillips, a referee, is answering the Timberwolves point guard: "No. Okay, alright." But that was all. No redo, no replay...

Lakers take down T-wolves

Bryant had 31 points and seven assists in his first game there filling in for the injured Metta World Peace to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a 120-117 victory over Minnesota on Wednesday night, their 22nd straight win over the Timberwolves. Dwight Howard had 25 points, 16 rebounds, five blocks and five steals, and Pau Gasol...

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- A person with knowledge of the discussions says the NBA has informed the Minnesota Timberwolves that the referee crew erred on Wednesday night in not calling a foul on Lakers guard Kobe Bryant on the final play of the game. The person, who spoke on condition of anonymity because an official announcement has not been made, said the league contacted the Timberwolves...

Lakers drop third straight vs. Golden State

Coach Mike D'Antoni didn't go ballistic after this game, but the Lakers certainly imploded during a 109-103 loss Monday night at Oracle Arena. As teams try to build momentum and magnetism heading into the playoffs, the Lakers showed neither while losing a third consecutive game. Not that they seemed especially worried about that. "I'm terrified," Kobe Bryant...

Kobe Bryant gets away with an obvious foul on Ricky Rubio, league office admits it was a blown call.

Stars get the calls, apparently even on the road.

Bucks Friday: Daniels made Kobe work

MILWAUKEE -- Many players have tried to call themselves Kobe Stoppers in years past. While nobody has ever truly stopped one of the greatest scorers in NBA history, the best defenders have found a way to make him work for his points. A quick glance at Thursday's box score shows that Bryant scored 30 points against the Bucks. What it doesn't show is how hard he had to work...

3/29/13 Wolves/Thunder

Rubio, after being mauled by Kobe Bryant on a non-call that would have netted JJ Barea a 30-game suspension if the roles were reversed   Too bad so sad. It is becoming increasingly difficult to exhibit anything but the highest degrees of apathy towards this team right now. About the only thing worthwhile remains watching Ricky Rubio give everything he has night in...

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Los Angeles Lakers forward Metta World Peace will have surgery on a torn meniscus in his left knee and miss the next six weeks. The Lakers announced the timeline on Wednesday.
