Now that the Los Angeles Lakers have been eliminated from the playoffs, Metta World Peace has spent a lot of time on Twitter providing analysis of the remaining NBA teams and players. On Wednesday night, World Peace made it a point to praise Stephen Curry following Curry’s 22-point performance in the Golden State Warriors’ Game 2 win over the San Antonio Spurs. In fact, MWP even decided to give Curry a new nickname. “I think Steve Curry is Top 10 in the NBA,” he wrote. “If he works on his defense, he will be MVP next year. LeBron (James) gets MVP because he is the best player on the best team. If Golden State improves and wins, Curry is a potential MVP for 2014.” World Peace actually made some very solid points. Curry has been lighting up the playoffs. He led the Warriors to a series win over the Denver Nuggets by dropping 24.3 points per game. He scored a whopping 44 in a Game 1 loss to the Spurs and 22 on Wednesday night. And he’s only 25. I don’t know about 2014 MVP, but he’s cer...

Stephen Curry Scores 44, Warriors Lose in 2OT Heartbreaker

Heading into the final nine minutes of Game 1 of the second round playoff match-up between the Golden State Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs, it was the Warriors, not the heavily favored Spurs, that appeared to be in control in their playoff destiny. Lead by Stephen Curry’s 22-point third quarter, the Warriors had built a 16 point lead and looked quicker, fresher and hungrier...

Steph Curry is better than all of us

It was all Golden State Warriors last night in Game 2 of their Western Conference Semifinals match-up with the San Antonio Spurs. Klay Thompson led the way with an offensive explosion alongside shooting assasin Steph Curry. Prior to the game, the Spurs said they weren’t going to change their approach to guarding Curry, which didn’t seem like a good idea. Would it even matter...

Leonard's defense on Curry key in comeback

So that was kind of weird what happened in Game 1.  It's not every day you see a 16-point deficit turn in to a double overtime victory. Still, that happened and while there wasn't one silver bullet that sparked the comeback, it did help that Stephen Curry stopped making shots in the final six minutes of the fourth quarter.  Part of Curry's woes had to do with...

Here’s Klay Thompson’s absurd first half in Game 2 (Video)

Stephen Curry had a noticeably un-Stephen Curry game in Game 2 against the Spurs Wednesday night. There was no customary third quarter explosion, and with 7-of-20 shooting he looked mortal compared to the ridiculous precedent he’s set for himself. But there to pick up the slack was Klay Thompson, who poured in a career-high 34 points and 14 rebounds and a Warriors playoff record...

Injury bug bites Parker, Curry in Spurs’ Game 3 victory over Warriors

After losing home-court advantage in the second round of the Western Conference playoffs on Wednesday, San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker had an interesting comment regarding the series between the Spurs and Golden State Warriors. “If you want to win in the playoffs,” said Parker after game two, “you have to win on the road.” Parker and the Spurs did just that...

Spurs can't rally again as Warriors even series

The San Antonio Spurs said they were going to treat the opener of the Western Conference semifinals as a loss rather than the historic victory it was. They don't have to pretend they lost to the Golden State Warriors at home anymore. Klay Thompson had a career-high 34 points and 14 rebounds, Stephen Curry added 22 points and Golden State withstood another furious rally by the...

Warriors, Spurs flip-flop roles going into Game 3

The confident aura emanating from the Golden State Warriors right now might be the only thing brighter than those yellow shirts every home fan is expected to be wearing again for Game 3 against the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night at ear-piercing Oracle Arena. The Warriors have outshot, outrebounded and outhustled the Spurs through the first two games of their Western Conference...
