In an interview by Sports Radio Interviews, Metta World Peace made his stance known regarding the Lakers record for this upcoming NBA season.  Metta World Peace, formerly known as Ron Artest, said they can beat the record that the 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls set.  World Peace stated,

We definitely want to beat the Bulls record and go 73-9.  That’s definitely something that I want to do.  Whoever is out there at the beginning of the season, then we gotta get it.  It’s as simple as that.  We just have to go get it.

Metta World Peace would continue on to say,

You try to snatch records before you leave this earth.  You gotta try to do a lot of great things, so it’s definitely a goal.  With Dwight Howard, Nash, Kobe, myself, Pau and then Jamison, and a lot of great additions, it’s something that’s possible.

One thing is for sure, the Lakers have to be really happy Metta World Peace has his sights on winning and becoming a consistent presence for the team.  As for his ambitious thoughts of the Lakers winning 73 and losing 9 for the season, anything is possible.
